"I had 25 year old beat up window screens that needed replacement. I believe 14 in total on a 2 story house. The owner called me quickly after my initial inquiry then came twice to my home, once to take measurements of the windows for fitting in new window screens with screen frames and the 2nd time to install them. He also showed me available new colors available for the aluminum screen frames which I matched better in color to my home than the original silver frames. The owner ordered the new screens and came out soon after and installed them. Some of my old windows were missing bracket hardware for the screen frames to mount in which he also promptly replaced. All in all a great experience with a solid professional on a job well done and at a reasonable price. Highly recommend."

"We are pleased to wholeheartedly recommend David Logan and Dadâ s Construction for your next project and can do so without any hesitation. David and Robin did a fabulous job with a doorway trim for us and we could not have been happier with the result. David was very easy to work with and has a â can-do-attitudeâ that is hard to find, refreshing and most importantly the key to a successful project. We will certainly use them again and we are happy to recommend them to anyone who needs help with any remodeling job or repairs!"

"We hired Scott from Screen Mobile of Atlanta and we were extremely pleased with their work. Our pool house needed new screens and windows and they suggested a few options, and we were thrilled with the final outcome. They have been very helpful throughout the whole process and they gave us thorough training and instructions on how to care for the windows in the coming years. We are beyond satisfied with the quality of work.."

"The job went very well. Todd responded quickly and scheduled the job. Technicians Andrew and Eric did a great job replacing the pipes, fastening them, replacing the valves, etc. They were very dedicated and worked through day and night in the cramped crawl space. They are also very personable and nice to work with. Very happy with the job and the staff."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Marietta, GA

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
