"I had OBA install outdoor french drains and new downspouts a couple of years before they waterproofed my basement. They were the only company I could find who did it all. Basement waterproofing included removing old, putting in new: full inside perimeter drainage, enlarge sump pit, 2 sump pumps, I-beams and carbon fiber straps. Added in brand new: battery backup for sump and vapor barrier on most affected wall. When my basement got wet a year later after the work was done, they didn't hesitate to schedule someone to inspect. If was heavy condensation, barely a thin puddle compared to 2 inches of flowing water. They had to rework a 6 ft section and add cement around the I-beams, each on their own call outs. They didn't charge because I have a lifetime warranty, transferable to the next owner. I'll be working with them again soon for a professional level dehumidifier."

"Service Tech provided quality work and was careful around the home. No pests have been found one day after the treatment. Probably will continue with Alford Home Solutions for Pest control on an annual basis with or without the sign of pests."

"The crew was great. Very good at their job and efficient. They installed a sump pump with drain in the basement and also fixed a wall that was starting to lean. Would hire them again."

"Had water backing up into the basement from the house to the septic.  Called Rotor Rooter,  said they couldn't run a snake down the line because the line was too thin, wanted to dig, by hand, approximately 3 feet down to put a clean out close to the house,  also told me that the septic was full.
Called a septic service and had the tank cleaned, advised me after they cleaned the tank that no water was coming out into the tank.  Possible blockage or broken line.
Called Graham-Simon,  plumbers came the same day,  found a blockage by snaking the line and saw the broken line when they used the camera.
When they were here, I asked them to look at the copper plumbing, since the house is 46 years old,  some of the copper had deteriorated, Kevin agreed with me that it would be a good idea to have the lines replaced.
They came quickly when first called, diagnosed the problem,  a week later they came on a Monday to start the project staying until 6:00pm so the bathroom could be completed.  Tuesday finished the job, even planting grass seed and straw where the yard had to be dug approximately 20 feet long 5-6 feet deep.
Very satisfied with the work that was completed by Kevin and Chase.

"Excellent Service. Jared and his crew were very professional, walked through the entire install prior to work. The excavation was performed with care to our property, they reseeded the grass afterwards. They permanently marked were each fitting along the run is located, so we know where to check if the line leaks years into the future. Professional, Friendly, high Quality. This will be the go to plumbers for all future jobs!"

"They have been out for the electrical. They have been out for the pool. They have been out for the sump pump. Its the fee for the service call. We have used them for the last 3 years. If you have an appliance that you think needs replaced they will not replace it they will repair it to death. They are very responsive. Some of the people they send out are great, some are okay."

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Marietta, OH

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
