"While at first glance the work looks good the contractor could use some lessons on detail. Basically, CR is painting the tile with a durable, highly adhesive paint. When painting it is customary to remove from the wall fixtures that can be removed in order to paint "behind" them-- i.e. light fixtures, electrical plates, etc. CR did none of that. They merely taped over the fixtures and went to town. The result is that around all of those fixtures I can still see a thin border with the original blue/pink tile. Worse, we informed them that one of the light fixtures would definitely be replaced with another with a smaller footprint and they still painted around it so now we have a large blue border around that fixture. In addition, CR failed to properly coordinate work with the general contractor resulting in some tiles going unpainted entirely. Some of those unpainted tiles were eventually painted but not all of them. Our experience with the durability of the product is mixed. The work in the hall bathroom has stood up to heavy use. There has been very little chipping and zero peeling. However, in the master bathroom the shower floor began to peel up less than a year after the work was complete. We called CR and it came out to repair. That repair peeled up less than a year later. We called again and CR repaired it again. It peeled up again and we called again. This time I was informed that to properly repair the peeling they would need at least $300 additional dollars. This was quite frustrating given that the shower floor had never lasted more than the one year warranty. Rather than pay for a repair I felt should have been done for in the course of doing good business I made the repair myself. I stripped off all the old paint, scuffed and etched the tile, and then used a contrasting textured concrete paint to refinish the shower floor. I looks much better and thus far has stood up much better than the original work. Overall, the quality of the work could be better as well as customer service. The product seems to be good if applied properly."

"I was given pricing over the phone with dimensions I provided and the color choices from the company's website. I had a large bathroom countertop and a tub surround that was swirly pink and white cultured marble put in by the previous owners and another large countertop in the guest bathroom that had yellowed over time and always looked stained. Both counters were just outside of standard measurements, so I would have to order something custom-made as a replacement. When I saw the Big Deal offer for this company, I thought I'd try it. The results were fabulous; I wish I had done it sooner and not lived so many years with the ugly counters! I wanted just plain white for the pink tub and vanity, but since the other counter was in our guest bathroom, I went with the stone look product to dress that up a bit more. The stone coating is an upgrade and I paid an additional $50 for the that counter, but it was well worth it.
The technician, Cory, came over and prepped all the surrounding areas by taping plastic on the walls and door frame. You can leave your hardware on and they will tape over it, but I chose to remove it the night before to get the product completely on all areas and frankly, was worried it might get on the faucets and I'd have to replace those, too. That was a needless worry when I saw how carefully Cory was protecting all the other surfaces. It took him one entire day to do all three areas and yes, it stinks. I kept the windows open and doors closed on those two rooms and had fans blowing so that helped some. The first two days there was a pretty strong chemical smell in the house, the third day not so bad and then I didn't notice it after that. The white coating has a bit of a glossy finish to it and is very smooth, but I noticed some slight bumps that looked like air bubbles from the "paint." The stone coating has a more matte finish and is textured. Cory had said I should wait a couple of days to see if the bubbles diminished and if they didn't, I could call for a follow up sand and smooth appointment. They were still bumpy so I called and he came back out the following week. I showed him my areas of concern and he smoothed them out and buffed out the shine. It looked like I had put in completely new surfaces instead of just a coating.
There were no chips or gouges in these surfaces so I cannot attest to how the coating would work on damaged areas. Also, I cannot tell you about their longevity, but there is a 5-year guarantee for the durability and cleaning has been a breeze. I had two new bathrooms in one day!
I would also like to comment on the professionalism Cory demonstrated. He answered all my questions and explained the process clearly in a calm and respectful demeanor and addressed my concerns regarding the chemicals and my children. I really appreciated that.

"They could have completed the job completely. They took pieces of it apart but they did not put those back together. I had the son of the maintenance guy put them back together. I'm just complaining about the completion of the whole job but the quality, workmanship, and everything were fine."

"We are SO pleased with Bryan's renovation of our bathroom. We appreciated his knowledgeable, down-to-earth, personalized approach. He was honest about what needed to be done, and then did everything he said he would do. The quality of the product and installation is awesome. We were especially glad we had chosen Bryan when he discovered that the subfloor under the shower had rotted and replaced it. Had we gone with one of the "cover it up" companies, we would never have known, and might have wound up finishing a shower in the basement! We had to wait a bit for the installation since Bryan is a "one stop shop," but we weren't in a hurry, and it was definitely worth the wait! We would hire him again in a heartbeat!"

"There were both good things and bad things about replacing a shower with Signature. The design phase went very well. The designer was helpful in narrowing down ideas and providing feedback while still allowing me to make the final choice. It was for help with design that I initially chose to use Signature. I also knew I would pay a little more for that service. However, after all the initial choices were laid out, some things started to go wrong. First, during install, four holes were accidentally poked all the way through the wall into the connecting room. While the holes were repaired by spackling and sanding over, I was now faced with having to repaint at a minimum a whole wall and possibly an entire master bedroom since the previous home owner did not leave any matching paint. Also after installation was done, I found some unused grout had been dumped at the side of my house by the garage instead of being disposed of properly. The real problem happened several months after the install. The entire faucet apparatus became loose from the wall. I called Signature to report the problem and after a couple weeks they finally sent out the original installer to fix it. It was tightened for a while, but again came loose after a few months. I again reported the problem to Signature and my designer but this time they did not contact me to take care of the problem. I ended up having to pay money to have a regular plumber come and take a look at it. They quickly identified that part of the valve must have broken during installation and instead of having a proper fix when the wall was open, a cheap jerry-built solution was attempted to be used not only on the original install (possibly tried to glue with silicone) but on the first re-fix as well. The plumber even found a drywall anchor used as part of the incorrect fix attempt. Long story short is the design and materials are good, but beware that customer service after the sale is terrible and your might be responsible for paying more for someone else to come fix their mistakes. I understand things rarely go perfect, but if they had owned up to their mistakes and fixed them properly, I would have considered using them again, albeit with a different installer who does not take shortcuts."

"Very punctual and the estimate was affordable. We decided to go a different way with our cabinets, but will definitely call them back when we refinish our lower level."

"I called him because the screws that hold the dishwasher stable to the underside of the counter fell out and I couldn't balance the dishwasher correctly to secure it. I called on Sunday and he responded promptly on Monday morning, came the same morning, and had it done in a couple of minutes. His minimum charge is one hour. I showed him another job - removing and replacing the caulk on my kitchen counters, and he was able to complete that also in the one hour I already was obligated to pay him for.

"With the unusually wet spring this year, our hearts sank when we heard the dripping of water in our bedroom, kitchen, and living room. We called our roofing company, but they explained the problem was not the roof, but the solar assist panels. So, we checked the phone books for a company to repair them. Imagine our surprise when we discovered in this day of alternative energy we could not find a company willing to come look at the panels, much less discuss our problem. Finally, we called a solarium company, and he said, "We don't do that, but I know a handyman and if he can't fix it, no one can." We put in a call to Al Vitale and he was reluctant at first, but finally after some begging on our part, agreed to look at it in 2 days. Two days later Mr. Vitale and his assistant were there on our roof. Then he came in and asked, Has anyone looked in the attic for where the water is coming in? We felt like 2 pennies waiting for change. No, no one had ever checked the roof. Mr. Vitale climbed up in a wink, did his survey, came down, placed a call to a glass company to order the Plexiglas and gave us the quote. A couple of days later there they were again, handling every detail of the repairs. He called us 2 days ago and said he'd been very busy fixing homes for the summer selling season, but would return to repair the ceilings and repaint them in 2 1/2 weeks. We wish all tradesmen acted so professionally. I almost hate giving his name to this list, but feel everyone should find out why we recommend him without hesitation. Oh, our insurance claim representative was very impressed with the work and also with the reasonable price, so that's not just our opinion. The claim representative took Mr. Vitale's name and number and said he could keep him busy. I hope we'll still be able to call him when we need help again. Oh, no more rain coming in since he fixed it, and we've had lots of rain and hail since."
