"<p>Jim at Carpet Classics helped me select carpet for a large family room, stairs, hallway and bedrooms.  Jim was very knowledgeable and incredibly helpful.  He provided a very personalized carpet selection experience completely opposite of my experience at a big box store.  Based on my answers to a few quick questions about my house and use of the rooms needing carpet, Jim quickly made recommendations about appropriate carpet choices and made the selection process very easy.  He came to my home to measure and provide more information.  The carpet was installed within 2 weeks of the date I ordered it.  His installation crew was awesome!!  They were very professional, friendly and hardworking.  They moved all the furniture, explained exactly what they were doing, finished when they said they would and did an amazing job.  The carpet looks and feels great!  I would highly recommend Jim and his installation crew to anyone!</p> <br />"

"The work was done well with great attention to detail.  From ordering through installation, the project was a complete success. Replacing old carpet and installing new wood flooring does create dust, but nothing exceptional and the installers made every attempt to minimize the dust and reduce the dislocation the project created."

"They did great work and were very professional in all aspects of the job. They also referred us to a very helpful wholesale carpet dealer prior to the installation and we saved a lot of money as a result."

"<p>Went to 2 NW Rugs stores, one off I5 near Tualatin, one near Tanasbourne. Purchased 2 handmade rugs, a 3x4 Balouch made in Iran and a 5x7 Peshavar from Pakistan. Both were tribal design rugs.</p> <p>Rugs were on sale however one store quoted a 15% discount, the other 30%. You need to ask for the sale price, it was not offered up front.</p> <p>Even if rugs are not on sale, make an offer. It appeared that the store is comfortable with a 30% discount. </p> <p>Go to more than one of their stores for the best selection. It appears that they have the same pattern in several different sizes as if some designs are made to order for the company in multiple sizes. If you want a and quot;uniqueand quot; rug, shopping more than one store is beneficial.</p> <p>Carpet pad is about $40-70 additional for the sizes of rugs that I bought.</p> <p>Staff was professional and cordial. You can take 3 rugs home overnight to see how they look on your floor. All they need is a credit card imprint (card is not charged).</p> <p>Would recommend them.</p> <br />"

"(three years ago he put down marmoleum flooring in my kitchen). Per the recommendation of the store where I purchased flooring, he came out prior to start of remodel to assess the condition of the floor/make recommendations on materials. At that time I was planning on marmoleum -- he suggested, instead, that I consider linoleum tile, both to save money and to reduce repair issues/potential for mold and mildew if the floor was ever flooded (it is a basement, after all!). His suggestion saved me considerable money in materials and his installation, and like my kitchen, it looks great. He is busy, and it's important to book ahead -- but he was also flexible when my remodel schedule got a little off track, which was very much appreciated. I would use David again in a heartbeat, and expect I will when I eventually get to that old bathroom. While at my house he did a little fix-it on kitchen floor seam; I know he stands by his work."

"Price can;t be beat...i was paying $150 at least per area, and Pat charged me a 200 minimum to do everything. Super friendly, efficient, and professional. I had 3 areas where the carpet was pulling back from the hardwoods. One area was bubbling a bit and was at least 6 feet long. Everything was stretched, additional carpet tack was added to make the height difference between the two floor less dramatic so future pulling away will be minimized."

"Jorge did a great job tackling my carpet installation project. He was very prompt to get back to me up front, provided a reasonable estimate for the job, and then showed up on time! His work was very well done and the finished product was perfect. I'd hire him again without hesitation."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Mcminnville, OR

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
