"Josh is very competent in his knowledge base of this specialized industry. He did a fantastic job for us. The job took one day â he moved his crew in, did the job and was gone before we knew it! Josh also took care of all the paperwork required for asbestos abatement. Josh is a true professional, has integrity, and is a super person to work with. Thank you Josh! I would hire you again in a heart beat!"

"This lab was highly recommended by a contractor friend, and they had the added benefit of being super close to my house. The employee I dealt with was very friendly and helpful. She outlined my options and costs, and helped me understand what my next steps will be once I receive the results of my asbestos test. If I need testing again in the future, I will definitely use JSE Labs. <br />"

"It all went very well. Rick was responsive to scheduling restrictions at my end. They did a great job of containment. They did not do some encapsulating that was in the original proposal, because they decided it was unnecessary, but they did more than expected in the bathroom walls and ceilings. So the original bid amount was still met. Since their AL listing mentioned to ask about a SR discount, I did, but Rick indicated that he never claimed to offer a Sr discount and suggested we see how it goes. That was as far as it went. But the work was good, including a final report documenting the total removal of mold for my insurance company. I would definitely use him again."

"Contacted business owner - Gilberto - via email. Job was small, driving distance was great, he suggested I send photos of the job and description, which I did. He sent back a bid for signature. My fax didn't work but we needed the job right away so he accepted my email approval with signed papers to be given his crew on arrival. Two men showed up on time and after seeing the space, set to work. They were self reliant, worked quietly and quickly. Shielded the area for traveling asbestos and we could continue regular activity upstairs. They got done in the time predicted and there was not a speck of debris left. The owner arranged for an air inspection after they were done; the report was clear - this was an additional charge on top of the price for absestos removal ($150.00). This charge was understood by me before the job started. I sent the check for payment to the wrong address - hadn't been updated on Angieslist - and Glberto was gracious and in the end, probably waited for his check most of a week, when he had every reason to expect payment at the time the job was finished. From start to finish, Gilberto was quick to reply to emails and clear in communication. His crew was great, we didn't interact much, but then we didn't need to."

"There's a reason these guys have such a high rating. I recently bought a duplex, there was the potential for asbestos in the basement. I contacted Minority Abatement and Guillermo came out the next day, scoped the situation out, sent me a quote and as soon as I agreed he had a team out within just a couple days to remove the potential asbestos. I had renters inside the unit above, they didn't even notice the abatement team because they made little to no noise. The entire job was done in a couple hours and thoroughly cleaned up, you'd never notice they were there other than the missing duct work they took out from the HVAC. I cannot recommend these guys enough. Highly responsive. Extremely well priced."

FAQs for asbestos abatement projects in Mcminnville, OR

Asbestos is a group of six naturally occurring mineral fibers once commonly used in building materials because of their resistance to heat, electricity, and corrosion. However, in 1975, research confirmed that these fibers cause mesothelioma and other cancers, leading to strict usage laws. If your home contains asbestos, removing it can prevent long-term health effects. You'll often find asbestos in the flooring, ceilings, pipes, and roofing of homes built before the 1990s. Common asbestos-containing materials include vermiculite insulation, vinyl flooring, millboard, and corrugated roofing. If you suspect you have asbestos or any of these materials in your home, it's important to hire a reputable abatement company to perform testing.

Currently, there is no federal licensing mandate for asbestos removal contractors. However, certain cities and states require certification and specialized training. For example, in some areas, contractors handling asbestos must receive an Asbestos Handler Certification. Be sure to check your local laws to ensure any contractor you hire meets the necessary requirements.

Homes constructed before the 1990s can conceal asbestos within building materials, and testing provides a definitive answer. You should have your home tested by a certified asbestos inspection service. This professional evaluation identifies hazardous materials and determines whether removal or encapsulation is necessary. Testing safeguards your family’s health and supports smart budgeting for remediation.

Federal law does not require you to disclose the presence of asbestos when selling your home. However, certain states and local jurisdictions impose disclosure regulations that you must follow. Testing and professional remediation confirm that hazardous materials are properly managed. This proactive approach not only meets legal requirements but also protects your property’s value and buyer health.

Asbestos removal affects a home’s resale value because hazardous materials can deter potential buyers. Having toxic substances present lowers buyer confidence and may reduce the property’s value by 1% to 15% if not addressed. Professional remediation ensures safety standards are met and preserves marketability, protecting your long-term investment.

Grants exist at both federal and state levels to support asbestos testing and removal projects. Local housing programs may also offer financial assistance when asbestos is discovered during home repairs. Meeting certification and testing standards is required to secure these funds, which help to manage overall project costs while ensuring safe remediation.
