Customers say: Quick response

"Even though Dolloff Lawncare was the ONLY business that responded to my request for services, Mr. Dolloff was very professional, kept in constant communication, came when promised and did a fantastic job of completing my project. He will also follow up occasionally to ensure that the job was finished. Not impressed with the other two companies NOT responding in any way."

"Todd and Henry could not be more fair and professional. They are prompt, transparent, and hard working. The trees they removed from my Conway property were about 40' tall and in close proximity to the house. The job went off without a hitch and the crew worked hard. I asked them to cut the oak into 18" pieces so I could use it in my stove and they did it at no extra charge. I now use them for my every day landscaping needs. I highly recommend this company for all Hardscaping services. <br />"

"It is a rare experience in today?s world to encounter a business that is both excellent at their craft AND personable as people. <br /> This can be said of Littlewoods! <br /> From the two owners, James and Aaron, to their team - Mike, Jeff, Zack and Nat - every encounter during our three+ day driveway job was pleasant, efficient and collaborative. Our particular driveway is quite challenging from a steep slope, to drainage issues). <br /> The Littlewoods team thoroughly assessed the entire set of challenges, provided accurate recommendations, and followed through as promised.  <br /> The final result was commented upon by all who drove up the day after completion. We heard things like:  ?Wow, new driveway??  ?It has never looked so great!?, etc. <br /> Littlewoods is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !   <br /> And, thanks for a job well done! <br />"

"I had a Groupon for 1000 sq. ft. of driveway sealing.  I have about 2000 sq. ft.  I bought the Groupon and called, and I was told it would be another $170, so I wanted to set the appointment.  It actually took a year to get done, as he had too many Groupon customers and was giving scheduling preference to his existing client base.  Once we had the appointment, they arrived on time, could not have been more pleasant, did a great job, and left the area spotless. <br />"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Meredith, NH

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
