"We hired Todd's Electrical Services to install a new EV car charger in our garage. Todd is a top tier professional electrician who really knows what he's doing. He is very thorough and I especially appreciated how he took the time to explain things to me in layman's terms. He recommended the right EV charger system for my needs and he even helped me to get the app set up on my phone and walked me through the configuration of the device step by step. He quoted me his best price right from the start (unlike some of his competitors) and that is exactly what I paid. I would hire Todd's Electrical Services again in a heartbeat. HIGHLY RECOMMEND"

"Needed electrical wires rerouted, outlet moved, additional outlet installed. Chris came in and accomplished everything I needed and then some. As far as pricing, it was exactly on par with everything I had seen from other estimates, which was very reasonable. Something that I appreciate when taking estimates is transparency with what the cost included, and Chris provided that. What won me over was that he had a simple plan, didn't try to talk about things that I really didn't need, but he did bring up things that he knew I would need based on our conversation about my plans, which included 220 (had already been on my mind for a while). He went ahead and got that line ran with two outlets. Super helpful, and very friendly. He is also prompt and was willing to work with my schedule. I will be keeping his information for future use. I recommend Idaho Star Electrical without hesitation. I would post pictures, but 99% of his work is now covered up inside the walls of my garage."

FAQs for electrical switches, outlets & fixtures install or repair projects in Meridian, ID

To select and hire an electrician for your light switch installation, start by evaluating candidates as you would for any skilled position. Ask detailed questions, request a written quote, and verify their licensing credentials. This careful screening prevents unexpected fees and ensures every aspect of the installation, including any drywall repairs, complies with code.

A light switch can malfunction due to compromised wiring or overheating conditions. Faulty connections and excess heat diminish the switch’s performance. If you hear crackling, popping, or hissing sounds when toggling the switch, this indicates active electrical faults that pose a safety hazard and demand immediate professional inspection. Prompt attention prevents further damage and ensures reliable operation.

Installing a light switch takes 30 minutes or less, on average. The installation time depends on the switch type, with dimmer switches requiring additional time compared to standard on-off switches. While the hardware replacement might be completed in 15 minutes, it's essential to adhere to safety protocols, like turning off the circuit breaker and verifying there's no power, for a safe and code-compliant installation.
