"We hired Mayflower to turn our retirement condo into our perfect home. We did not want downsizing to deprive us of our most loved home features. The tiny kitchen was our first priority. Could we please have a microwave/convection oven, a steam oven, an induction cooktop, a dishwasher drawer, and a French door fridge with the newest tech for keeping produce fresh. We also wanted Rev-a-Shelf features to maximize storage space, including trash bin and pantry pullouts. And how about a deep kitchen sink and instant hot water for tea? It didnâ t take long for Nicole to show us designs. Everything fit together beautifully. Nicole added some open shelves to make the kitchen more spacious, and she surrounded our washer/dryer with custom cabinetry so it no longer looked out-of-place in the kitchen. The small laundry supply cabinet created next to it was the perfect touch. We did not even have to upgrade to more expensive cabinets to accomplish this so we were able to keep to our budget. Previous to this, I imagined improving my tiny bathroom would be impossible, but when Nicole informed me that my tiny bathroom stall could be enlarged by several feet because one wall could be moved back, I was excited! Then I was shown how my old cabinet had fillers on either side so extra space was lost. My new cabinet would have more storage space and also create more floor space in front of it. The chunky old toilet could be replaced with a tankless bidet creating more floor space, and giving me some luxury options like heated seat and self cleaning. My bathroom was going to be transformed, just like the kitchen. Having been through remodels at previous residences I was a little anxious about all this work being done while we were living in the condo, but the Mayflower crew were very courteous. All work went exactly as planned, protective plastic walls protected our furniture, and frequent email updates were sent to us confirming exactly what work was completed and what was in progress. Since I could see much of the work while it was being done, I was impressed by the crewâ s skill and pride in their work. We are now looking forward to having all our worn-out 40 year-old closet and room doors replaced. We know that Mayflower will have no trouble completing on schedule and at a price that we can afford. "Heartwood did a perfect job replacing our kitchen countertops, from the first customer contact through fabrication and installation. We were in the market for Corian countertops because we wanted to avoid the radon issues that granite can bring into a home. We knew that we wanted to use Corian’s Raincloud, which is mainly white, with some gray and tan striation to soften the look. It is a directional pattern, and Heartwood did an excellent job marrying the pieces together so that the pattern looks good. We had our new kitchen sink drop-shipped to them from Amazon, so that they could cut the countertop to fit it, and they obtained all of the measurements needed to fit the sink and the new faucet into the area in front of a large window with a deep windowsill. They included a custom edge, which looks wonderful. There were several areas that required a great deal of planning and skill to get it right, and everything came out perfectly. It was a pleasure to work with such a professional firm. We would definitely use Heartwood again, and I recommend them highly."

"Almost since we moved into our house 5 years ago, we’ve wanted to have two custom pieces of furniture built: a long, built-in shoe bench by the front door and a custom bed to optimize the space in an upstairs bedroom. Jed did both absolutely beautifully. Each piece looks like it was originally part of the house, works exactly like we wanted and more than a year later still looks just as gorgeous and has held up flawlessly. That’s despite being used and abused by a family of 4 including a 2 year old and a 5 year old. The shoe bench did the impossible of both making our entryway look much less crowded and also expanding the amount of storage space we had by at least a factor of 3. We finally have enough space for all of our shoes and had extra space for packages, reusable grocery sacks, and backpacks. The bed took a room that wasn’t really big enough to play in between the dresser, bed and desk and made it into a space that had more storage and also enough space for our 5 year old to really play in and enjoy his room. At each step of the way, Jed was meticulously detail-focused and worked with us to get everything exactly the way we wanted. That included things like using leathered granite on the benchtop so that it was as durable as stone, but wouldn’t show small scratches from keys in pockets, making the bed so it could be rotated 90 degrees, and adding adjustable feet to raise the bed as the carpet under it inevitably sagged. Jed also brought his own aesthetic sense to the projects. The molding he put along the bottom of the shoe bench took it from being a very-nice-looking shoe bench to something that I can’t imagine having been done better that perfectly matches it’s surroundings. The feet on the bed and the inset detail on the side of the bench and drawers on the bed also come from his vision. We could not be happier with the work and they’re the two most impactful improvements we’ve made to the inside of our house since we moved in. We have a few more plans for improvements we’d like to make including an unconventionally shallow closet in an upstairs bedroom that we will definitely have Jed back to do."

"The built-ins Econize installed in our family room and daughter's room are exactly what we wanted and our experience with the company was wonderful from the initial design consultation to the final install. During the design consultation David listened to my requests and provided honest and practical suggests and recommendations. He could have easily sold me a built-in bookcase that wouldn't have looked good in addition to the family room and child's bedroom floor to ceiling bookcase we ended up getting, but was honest and professional and suggested I not go ahead. The install was efficient and the install guys were prompt, friendly, professional, and courteous. They removed shoes, asked if we would like them to wear a mask even though they were alone in the rooms they installed in, and were very accommodating of the fact I didn't know how many wire holes we needed in the built in. They arranged to come back and drill and fit these at a later date and arrived promptly and worked efficiently again. Just excellent customer service and an excellent product. Could not recommend them enough."
