They suggested instead of fixing the current one because of age, that I should get a new opener. We scheduled the work to be done the following morning. Jose came and had the new opener installed within an hour and half. He let me know the options for the different openers and what each level added in options. I chose the basic opener option, which included wifi/an app to use to open/close the door in addition to a car remote and wall device. He did a fantastic job! I have used Family Prestige Garage Doors in the past for garage door tune-ups and also a garage door replacement. They are a pleasure to work with and have fair and honest pricing. "Academy Door sent a representative out who really knows what he is talking about and who shows the customer samples of materials and colors so they know exactly what they are buying. This is the way all companies should work. Academy gave me a price which which was $150 lower than their nearest competitor for the same insulated steel door. Academy agreed to install the door within 2 to 3 weeks and were there when they said they would be. They called ahead of time, which I appreciated. Their installer, a man named Luis, has been installing garage doors for over 15 years. He is amazing to watch, moves like poetry in motion, knows exactly what should be done when, and is very precise in his work. He came alone, took the old door down and installed the new door in a couple of hours. Everything was clean and neat when he finished. The door runs smoothly and makes very little noise, compared to the old door, and I am very pleased. Academy is so professional and such a pleasure to do business with that I would give them more stars, if I could!"

"They didn't have to. I thought we had a garage door issue, and they came out. It had fixed itself. The gentlemen explained what often happens about something coming unconnected. All you do is run the garage door a couple times, to hook the cable back together. We didn't do it enough before he came out here. He didn't charge me anything. Nope. He was only here for five minutes. He said what was the problem, I told him this door here won't open look. I pressed the button, and it opened. They came at a convenient time. "I used Andrew's Garage Door Repair.  The last time I used them it was not satisfactory.  They came in to look at the garage door and said he was going to replace the back motor.  That process took about 4 weeks.  They came out three times and the first two times were good.  The reason I signed up to Angie's List is because they give honest feedback.  He said he would be back in three days and he wasn't.  He did fix it finally.  I had to make a lot of phone calls and emails and reminders.  I didn't understand that, I mean, I paid him the money he was asking for.  So he came and he fixed it and it is working fine.  They were here April of 2016.  It cost $500."

"I called Stoneberger to get a second opinion and cost estimate with regard to repair of my non-functioning garage door.  Amber Stoneberger was very responsive to my problem by phone and worked around my schedule to get a service call set up.  She promised that they would fix the problem in one visit and have the parts needed on hand.  Brian Stoneberger arrived on time, assessed the warp in the metal section that was preventing the door from closing and felt confident that bracing the door with one strut would fix the problem.  My garage door hasn't been serviced or lubed in eleven years -- but Brian got it fixed and humming like new.  Aside from installing the strut, Brian lubed everything; he taught me how to lubricate all of the hinges and moving parts; he changed out the dead battery on the exterior key pad, reprogrammed it, and then taught me how to reprogram it; and without asking, he replaced one of the dead lightbulbs in the overhead unit and fixed the problem with the socket that was causing the bulb to go out.  He even gave me a spare can of the proper lubricant for my future use. He did all of this within about an hour.  My impression is that this is a family-owned business that operates with integrity; they take pride in the service they provide and they strive for excellence.  They have earned my trust.  I am noting that my first call was to Door Doctor in Sterling. Door Doctor knew that I wanted the door fixed in one visit but instead sent "an estimator" whose prognosis for the repair vasilated and cost estimate nearly doubled by the time he was done assessing my situation.  So glad I followed my instincts and decided to get a second opinion, and really glad that I found the Stonebergers.

"Prompt, solid service. We did run into a garage door glitch a couple months later that I suspect might have been related to a screw that somehow got loose and created some problems. I called the company around 11 am and left a message. Someone got back to me within 30 minutes and said that they would get someone over to take a look at it that day. A workman arrived about 3 hours later, quickly identified the problem (including fixing the incorrect fix that I had made) and fixed the problem in 10 minutes. I somehow managed to lose a special size screw and he promised to drop one off at the house the next time he is in the area. I was very pleased with their responsiveness and professionalism. The workman (Jim?) explained what I had done wrong and how I made the mistake for future reference."

"Finally a professional that not only meets expectations but goes well beyond. Eugene Burgess was on time, worked quickly and replaced two garage door openers in a timely fashion. He also replace the rubber strip on the bottom of each garage door (not expected but appreciated). When finished he fully explained the operation of the system and took the time to reset the cars remotes. A class act!! "It finally came time for us to replace two old wooden garage doors. First I did some research on garage doors in general. Lots of info on the Internet. Then I did extensive research on quality garage door contractors in my area. Used Yelp and other sources. Came up with a list of five quality candidates and sent details to each for bids. Eliminated 3 in relatively short order for various reasons. Came down to two candidates for the same two door options (either a Clopay or a CHI) -- Academy and another contractor. I focused on all decisioning points -- service, price, features, warranty, etc. Both were very close on price so that was not a discriminating factor. However, all the other factors came out very much in favor of Academy. Our sales contact, Dave McLaughlin was superb. Knowledgeable, responsive, helpful. The two managers at HQ -- John and Alan -- also very professional and responsive. So I did the order with Academy and selected the Clopay doors. Doors arrived in the time period they said. Scheduled the install. Jim and Coach (two HUGE guys!) showed up and did the install. They were even able to deal with the fact that my floor was off level just a shade. Made the doors fit well. Thanks guys! So far so good! Love the new doors! SO much better than the old ones in every way. Now I have to fix up my house b/c the garage doors are now the best part!"
