The two technicians who performed the work were very professional and worked hard to overcome some unforeseen installation difficulties. From my initial e-mail to the installation of the cap, Chimney Chap was very responsive. Meanwhile, some other companies I contacted were unresponsive and less interested in performing a small installation project. I will surely contact Chimney Chap, Inc. in the future if I experience any problems with my gas stove."

He explained everything (sometimes twice) so we could understand. They were honest, up front, and were able to fix the flue liner and install flashing same day (yes, I learned new words today!). "I could not be happier. Obviously, I have not climbed on top of my 3 story house to look close up, but even from the ground I can see that what was clearly a rickety chimney now looks, well, rock solid. The chimney cap is in place and it clearly looks like it's going to stand for a very long time. Ted called me within minutes of me doing the search on Angie's List, but since Rock Solid was one of the companies that came up with an A rating and excellent reviews, and since he could come out very quickly, I decided to see what he said. Time frame was important here, since you could see the sky through the gaps between the bricks of the chimney, and we have solar panels near by. If a brick fell it could damage a solar panel and that would be very bad. In fact, Ted said that the best course would be to rebuild the chimney entirely, but given the solar panels he wouldn't want to take the chance. It looked rebuilt when they left today. He gave me the estimate on Tuesday and was able to make it here on Friday (today.) He *did* tell me he wasn't a morning person and wouldn't be out early, but I didn't need to be here so long as they had access to water and electricity. Well, I don't know when they arrived because I didn't hear a thing. Just when I went out I saw the ladder. They were done by 4pm and everything looked beautiful. The ground underneath was perfectly clean. I gave him a check and now I've got a fully repaired chimney that isn't going to fall down. All good! Much happiness all around. I certainly recommend Rock Solid Chimney."

"Installation went fine until I noticed several weeks later that it was harder to keep house warm and there was significant draft by the woodstove insert. I went outside and looked at the chimney cap installed by Kevin Fredrickson and noticed it was off center of the chimney and the base of the cap was only covering 2/3rds of the opening and no insulation was placed around the liner so heat was funneling right up the chimney and outside.  I contacted Kevin and he responded within a few days and agreed to take a look.  When he arrived he didn't have the tools or ability to fix the cap due to snow so he stuffed insulation around the chimney liner from inside the house to keep the drafts down and stated he would be back in spring to fix the cap.  As of June 1, 2015 he hadn't contacted me or arrived to fix the cap so I tried to contact Kevin Fredrickson but got no response.  As of 10/9/2015  (the date of this review) Kevin had not contacted me or made any attempts to properly attach the chimney cap installed by Integrity Chimney Services LLC.

On Friday October 16, 2015 Kevin stopped by and properly attached chimney cap to chimney and corrected the issue."

"My wife and I hired Jason approximately two years ago to repoint our chimney and replace some bricks that he assessed as problematic before adding a screen porch onto our house (the chimney runs through the porch). This is not an inexpensive job. We also brought Jason back to add new lead flashing to the chimney when the porch was being built. After the screen porch was added, we noticed several leaks in the porch roof coming from the chimney area. We originally thought the leaks were due to a step-flashing issue. The contractor who built the porch was extremely responsive and assessed the roof and step-flashing and was unable to determine a leak due to a roofing issue. As the screen porch made it easier to access the upper part of the chimney, I went up on the roof and it was evident that Jason missed repointing several joints and despite sealing the chimney we had moss growing out of many joints. We subsequently noticed the roof on the older part of our house was failing and we ended up doing an entire roof replacement. Before the new roof, we had Jason come back out to fix some of the joints he missed. He was extremely difficult to get in touch with. We had to get in touch with him through the contractor who built the screen porch. He promised to come back and seal those joints which he never did. After the new roof, new ice and water, and new step-flashing around the chimney, we still had the leaks. The new roofer ran several hose tests and determined we had a problem with the chimney. After reinspecting, it was obvious that many joints still lacked sufficient mortar repair. We have kept Jason informed throughout the process, but he never returns our e-mails and is completely unresponsive. I spent hours on the roof myself sealing joints, adding mortar, and then resealing the entire chimney. The chimney has not leaked again since my work. Here are Jason’s own written words that he has not honored, “Yes I garuntee (sic) all my work with a ten year warranty. And again the estimate is as if I were approaching my own home so the idea is you don’t need to worry about your chimney again other than cleaning the flues.” In short, we trusted Jason with an expensive job and when we had an issue, he was entirely unresponsive. We even gave Jason an opportunity to respond to this review before posting. He did not respond. We are giving Jason three stars to be fair as we believe he did a relatively good job on the lower portion of our chimney. Moreover, our situation seemed to be a difficult situation to assess. However, our experience is that Jason will not respond if you have an issue, and the upper portion of our chimney was poorly done. Additionally, as the expert, it was Jason’s job to properly assess our chimney. We should not have had to do any of the work ourselves (or paid for additional materials), and Jason should have given the same level of detail to the upper third of our chimney as the lower third. It is worth noting that Jason was very good at communicating when he was bidding the job and throughout the job. If you hire Jason and have a problem with his work, you should likely not expect a response or remedy from him."

"After the work was completed, I began experiencing significant ice dam, and leaking not previously experienced. The company returned to my house two additional times to examine the situation and claim no responsibility. Over one month ago, the owner came out personally to examine the premises, and I appreciated his invovement. He pointed out several things that were wrong with my roofing system including soffet venting, and cheek wall flashing. He denied any responsibility on the leaking sky lights which I was told at sale he guaranteed! He further pointed out a failing gutter system as my problem, I asked why he never properly recommended soffet venting and flashing at the time of installation. He had no credible response and said he would get back to me. I never heard back. Since that time, I have had a town building inspector, licensed home inspector, several contractors and the shingle manufacturer out to my home. They have all unanimously concurred that Superior Roofing improperly installed my sun roof flashing, cheek wall flashing and water and ice shield. The shingle manufacturer has advised that Superior Roofing failed to properly install a roof venting system which can in affect void the expensive warranty I purcahsed. The owner of Superior correctly identified that my gutters were problematic, but all agree that my current leaking issues are not due the gutter system. While the company appears to be professional, I think I got a bad crew and the owner of the company is to busy making excuses to do the right thing. This is sad, as I had been willing to give them the opportunity to correct the problems."
