"Great job. Arrived right on time and repaired track on sliding door that had become very worn and difficult to move door over. Also replaced the rollers. The door now slides very smoothly."

"Hunter and his team did a great job replacing all our interior doors, and reframing some doorways. There was a slight manufacturer delay with delivery of the doors, but Hunter kept us up to date on a regular basis, and installed as promised. I plan to hire them again when we replace our front entry door."

"We were pleased with the installation of our fire/security system. The workers explained what they were going to do and showed us how to use the alarm. When they were done the installation, they cleaned up. They also gave us a discount because we went through Angie's List."

"On Friday 7/25 upon arriving home, closed garage door and chain broke loose while door was closing.  The main drive sprocket on top of unit had sheared off of its drive shaft.  The next day, called John from A-1 Advantage Garage Door Service of Gilbert and described the problem.  He gave me a quote of $150 and said he could be at my home in 2 hours.  I agreed, and he arrived on time.  He immediately began the repair and showed me the pile of metal shavings where the months/years of wear had slowly brought the unit to failure.  He replaced all the gearing, lubricated, adjusted the chain, adjusted the door spring, and adjusted the force limits.
When he was finished, door opened and closed more smoothly than it ever has [since I've lived in the house, which has been just over a year]; but he pointed out the rollers were pretty well worn.  He suggested they appeared to be original and he estimated 10 years of wear or more.  [Per records that came with the home, spot on with 12 years of wear.]  He suggested to maximize the life of the opener, I'd do well to replace the rollers.
While John was working we engaged in some small talk and he mentioned he's been in the business for 40+ years.  His speed and ease doing the repair reflects that experience.

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Mesa, AZ

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
