"Rob Hanna was wonderful at explaining the product. Answered all of our many questions. We felt like he is an expert in his field and a wonderful ambassador for his company. Would recommend him to anyone interested in sunrooms, additions or just a screened in room."

"I was very much impressed with the installers and their work. They left the place cleaner when the left than when they found it. They also put in a patio cover for me and they did great on that also!"

"We did the demo on our old two-tiered decking. Betterliving built a new upper deck from composite with aluminum railing. The lower deck was replaced with as 12X15 sunroom. The process from start to finish was a pleasure. All employees were friendly, knowledgeable, skilled, and prompt. Price was better than anticipated, so we went with a 4-season sunroom instead of a 3-season. The worksite was safe, clean and orderly, and the quality of the build was excellent. They worked through some miserable cold weather too. Deck â Betterlivingâ s construction quality was a major improvement to what we previously had. Their suggestion to use two colors on the railing worked out great too - spindles are a different color that the rest of the railing. Sunroom - also very solid construction. It is insulated well, and also helps even out the temps in the family room it is attached to. The gable style not only looks nice, but makes the sun room look bigger. They built a small landing off of the sunroom entryway too. It is important to note that they installed the flooring and contracted the electrical. Flooring and electrical work were included as part of our quote with them. Not all of our quotes from other businesses included flooring and electrical work, and would have been an additional cost with someone else. Having everything included in the quote also meant we had one project, not several projects. Deck/sunroom/landing materials â decking and landing materials were the same composite materials. The sunroom skirting was also the same composite. This ties everything together visually, and improves the overall look. Electrical work â Knorr Electric completed all the electrical in the sunroom (interior and exterior outlets, exterior floodlight, and hung a ceiling fan). They also replaced all of our outside lighting on the entire house while they were here, and moved a bathroom light inside. They were also friendly, knowledgeable, skilled, and prompt. And quality work from them too. We will definitely contact Betterliving and Knorr again for any additional work we want done. They are highly recommended! Note that Betterliving in the Erie, PA area is connected to DBC Remodeling and Construction (same company). DBC came highly recommended to us from a friend."

"I was losing a lot of heat and moisture, prior to the install, was building up in the cold air returns.   He fully insulated everything.  My furnace only runs now about 15 every hour and all the moisture build-up is gone.  They are excellent!

"The salesman Bob Z was wonderful. Once they had some of my money, things changed. They tried to bypass building permits. The phone call said, we can move the project up three weeks by skipping the building permits. I said no to this. They did comply to my wishes. Two permits were taken out, county and township. However, it took over 5 weeks to get the needed permits. Once demolition and construction began (two months after contract and initial payment), things moved forward slowly. Inspections were not done when they should have been and when building was completed items had to be removed for inspections and then reinstalled. Good business?"

"He goes to a place that makes the doors, they are better quality and are able to be customized.  When he said he was going to be here, he was here. He was very courteous and had no problem with me wanting to paint the doors, the color of my choice, because I like to paint. And he brought the doors in advance of installation, so that I could have an easier time doing the painting, less taping. The door is so much better quality, that I had to purchase a bigger, longer, deadbolt!. That makes me feel really safe.  And at the base of the doors, where the weather always wears away the paint and can cause rot;  he tried something new, he sized and fitted siding material In between the screen door and the storm door, which will be very much more durable against the elements, and it looks great!  I am definitely going to call him and get an estimate on a new patio door, in the spring.  I would recommend him to anyone."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Middlefield, OH

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
