"We chose VKB mainly on its reviews on this website. Overall the experience was very positive. We were pleased to learn that VBK did not charge a fee upfront to design the kitchen. Calvin (kitchen designer) made excellent suggestions to improve our original vision and was responsive to changes to the design. Calvin convinced us to choose wood floor and crown molding, and the type of range hood, and he was right on all counts! Because of the smooth design process with Calvin and reasonable price, we decided to sign on with VBK over other companies. The implementation phase had some bumps: the design drawings that Jason (project manager) and Ismar (crew leader) started with were not the updated version, but thankfully that was quickly rectified. In addition there were some misunderstanding on the scope of the painting area, but Calvin agreed to honor what we had discussed verbally, even though it was not spelled out in the contract. Jason listened and patiently explained the project process, and kept asking to make sure that we were happy with the progress. For example, he agreed to redo the placement of the undercabinet lights. He also accommodated our desire to donate our old cabinets to Habitat for Humanity, and Ismar and his crew carefully took the down the cabinets and stored them in our garage for pickup later in the week. Ismar, Luis, and the rest of the crew did a fantastic job installing and painting everything, and their experience showed in disguising the fact that our walls were not straight and the floor was not even. We were also impressed with the laser tools that they used to guide cabinet and light placements. The crew was careful, meticulous, and respectful, and they cleaned up throughly every day. There were other crews handling the flooring and countertops, who also did top notch work, and all were coordinated like clockwork by Jason. Along the way, we learned some lessons and offer the following advice: if you are particular about the placement of your celling lights, electrical outlets and switches, let the crew know, and they will do their best to accommodate. Also, pay attention to every single detail in the contract; if not specified, there can be a misunderstanding, and a deviation may require a change order and extra expense. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the excellent quality of the work, and even though there was a delay in the backsplash order, the job finished as projected. We definitely recommend VKB, and we love our new kitchen. Jason -- we are happy!"

"The team that built our deck did a great job. The craftsmanship was very precise and the build seemed to go very smoothly. Any questions that I had along the way were answered and addressed without hesitation. "Thanks to the skill and tireless work ethic of Travis, and his assistant Chris, our more than ten-year old deck and pergola have been restored into a new deck and pergola. 
First, Travis and Chris removed all the furniture and planters from the deck, then Travis pressure washed it.  When it was dry they sanded the entire deck surface and hand rails by hand to remove all the existing finish.  Three coats of stain/sealant were applied.  Even the edges of the deck boards were stained and sealed.  Looks new.
Travis pressure washed the pergola and did some minor repairs on the pergola's lattice.  The pergola was then stained and sealed.  It, too, looks new.
Just for the heck of it, Travis pressure washed some stepping stones and our sidewalk.  They look great.
I would not hesitate, for a second, having Graham Restoration LLC back at our home to perform any work I did not want or feel capable of doing myself.  Theses folks are a class act!

"One of the most responsive and flexible contractors I've ever dealt with. Promptly returned my phone calls and performed lightning fast turnaround (within 1.5 days of visit/assessment). This could have been even quicker, but I encouraged George to take his time! With very reasonable ($ 85 for an upgrade package), prompt turnaround and the specialization in this field (not many in this field) - would not hesitate to hire again or recommend for similar projects. George also has nearly 15 year's experience in the window/door industry, and is familiar with many of the major brands. You will be pleased!!"

"Of the four contractors suggested by Magic Service, Robert was the first to call and stop by. It was his suggestion to replace the florescent light and install recess lights which was a much better solution than trying to fix or upgrade what was there. Of the three contractors who provided bids for all of the work, including installing the lights and replacing the toilet and flooring, Robert's was easily the most competitive.  He seemed very knowledgeable about all aspects of the work to be done in that first meeting, and I appreciated the options he presented in terms of cost and materials for all aspects of the job.

Robert's two man crew were on the dot punctual all four days and did an excellent job.  Robert worked with them the first day to get things started, then either stopped by in person or by phone the other three days. They made adjustments readily along the way when we asked for small changes. They were very careful in their work and did a great job cleaning up each day. I recommend their services without reservation and am in process of negotiating additional work to be done."

"Nelson was professional, courteous and friendly from beginning to end.  We contacted several people for estimates.  Some were way over our budget and others came across as not wanting the job.  Nelson was prompt to return an estimate and his price seemed fair.  He also came across as a genuinely nice, responsible  and hard-working contractor. 
When we signed the contract, Nelson said he would start work on July 1st, and sure enough, he was ready to go on July 1.  Before the start date, he and his architect took care of the blueprints and permitting process through the city.   We were responsible for providing most of the finish materials (tile, toilet, sink, vanity, lights).  Nelson took care of the rest.  
The renovation took a month, and Nelson and his crew (usually one or two additional workers) worked hard and and kept the space neat.  He did most of the work himself, with the exception of having a plumber do the rough-in for the new bathroom and a painter do all the drywall finish work and painting.  
As with any renovation, there were some surprises along the way.  The city inspector required a new electrical box and hard-wired smoke detectors on each level.  Nelson took care of this extra expense as cost-effectively as possible.  He was very responsive to our changes and suggestions.  
We were very happy with Nelson and would use him again for any future renovations.
