"Nathan and the entire team over at Blaine Construction are the best! They installed our marble vanity tops and custom marble vanity backsplash in a very high end remodel of ours here in Savannah and did a fabulous job. I cannot recommend these guys enough. Thank you!"

"I ended up not buying the house, because the owner of the house was covering up some possible structural damage on the house. The company, Pro Renovation was actually went inside the closets to inspect, they were really good, they were awesome because they were able to discover the damages on the closets , with pictures. they are very honest, because they could have just made the dollars up & left me in a mess, they actually looked out for me, to my best interest. I highly recommend this company."

"Excellent. Hanging the hammock on the porch of a beach house took some ingenuity to hang properly. It turned out to work perfectly and looks good. The replacing of rotten wood and re-screening look good as new. Stephen (the Tybee Handyman) is a pleasure to work with, totally dependable, professional and does good work. He also is very reasonable in his charges."

"We are postponing the work until December because of things on our end. Getting the estimates and follow-up planning was great. Sophie in the main office responded quickly and warmly to all our enquirers, including late night emails from us, impressive...Two very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly guys came to our house just at the appointed time and carefully examined the damage and talked me through the repairs."

"I was skeptical at first, you hear a lot of horror stories from people dealing with roofing companies. I've learned overtime to be wary of contractors, they don't always deliver, but this company does. I received a few quotes from companies before deciding on a contractor. The tipping point for me was meeting with A.J. (RPI Sales Consultant). He was highly energetic and exceptionally knowledgeable. He explained the do's and don'ts of roof repair, the experience and dedication of RPI and its staff. After our consult, I felt this was the company for me. The end result: They DELIVERED. The craftsmanship was was exceptional, John and his crew were on time each day of the project and worked the task to completion. Once compete, they cleaned up the work site well into the dark. John, stopped by the next day to conduct the follow up with me to ensure the job was done to my standard. I am very please with this company and its team of professionals. I highly recommend them to anyone who's on the fence. They will get the job done. Regards Ron Nixon"

"First:  The owner of Horton Remodeling, John, is incredibly responsive.  I found this to be even more so if you contact him via e-mail.  That's not to say he doesn't return calls, but he's on top of his e-mail.  I never had to wait more than a couple of hours for a response (most of the time it was less than this).  By being on top of customer communications, he made our family feel like a valuable customer. <br> <br>Second:  Spring is the remodeling season.  When we were trying to figure out a date to have the doors refinished, Horton was in high demand and fairly well-booked.  We were looking at one or two weeks out.  At the time, I had taken a week off work to be with my kids during their spring break and I indicated that I would really prefer not to have to take more time off to be home for his crew to do the work.  In order to accommodate my request, John asked one of his carpenters (a great fellow named Hank) if he wouldn't mind coming by our house after he got off work each day to work on the doors for an hour or so.  Hank lives fairly close to us and was happy to oblige.  By being so flexible and willing to work around my schedule, Horton Remodeling AGAIN made us feel like a valuable customer. <br> <br>Third:  Once the finishing was completed by Hank, John came by one evening and adjusted our hinges.  The doors closed just fine for a day or so, but then one of them started dragging again (these are large, solid wooden doors with a semi-circular top held in place by hinges that only go up about 2/3 of the side - so it's inevitable that gravity will have an effect).  I contacted John to let him know and I think he was back out the next day or the day after that and got things set straight again.  That was almost two weeks ago and the doors close like butter!  Nice and smooth. <br> <br>Fourth:  For the quality of service, work and convenience, the cost of the service was incredibly reasonable.  A couple of years ago I got a quote from another service and they quoted more than I paid for Horton... per door!  So, I ended up waiting until I was in a place to spend that sort of money and come to my surprise, I had money left over (that immediately went toward other projects around the house). <br> <br>If I *ever* need any sort of carpentry or remodeling work done, I will not hesitate to call these folks.  Just keep in mind that the work we had done was pretty small-scale, and they do quite a bit of large-scale work, so the scheduling bonus made available to us may vary from job to job.  I just wish I could post a picture of their finished work!"

"I have bought and sold several well lived in houses and thus experienced a number of handymen, none better than Dietra Nickerson, handywoman.  <br />    I hired Dietra because of the great reviews she received on Angies List.  The couple of negative reviews appear to grouch about problems reaching her, not about her work.  She always got back to me as promptly as any worker could who absorbs themselves in the work they contract to do and must act as their own secretary. <br />    Dietra made a number of repairs to my home, inside and out: carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and misc.  As she would <br /> quickly fix one problem, I would think, why not give her a crack at another that has been annoying me. For example, after she installed a couple of light fixtures I thought, why not give her a shot at untangling the wiring mess in my attic which left me with dead switches and lights which require unscrewing the bulb to turn out.  How much would an electrician cost?  She untangled the mess and everything was working right in well under an hour.  I had hired a plumber (highly recommended on Angies List) to fix some slow filling toilets. They were better after he left, but still not quite satisfactory.  Dietra came in after him and now they flush <br /> great and refill in record time.  I never expect to call a plumber again for minor plumbing if Dietra is available. <br />    Her carpentry included repairing two dilapidated fences (they look new now) and constructing a hexagonal roof to a structure.  We couldn?t find a suitable pre-built roof.  As it turned out, I doubt if we found one that it would be cost competitive to the one Dietra built. <br />    Probably among her many best qualities is that when she feels that some other service provider is better qualified than she to do some job she will not hesitate to recommend them and even help find the right provider.  That was great for me since I hardly knew where to start looking. <br />    I highly recommend Dietra, above other handymen, for any tasks that do not require great strength or two men.  On the other hand, don?t underestimate Dietra; she?s a very strong lady with great ingenuity.  Dietra?s work included time spent off my premises shopping for me and building the hexagonal roof.  But when she presented me her bill most of that time wasn?t included. She undercharged me.  She is the only service provider in recent memory with whom my own ethics required me to argue to readjust their hours up and bill me higher.  When I told my son I was hiring a handywoman he said, ?Dad, there?s no such thing.?  My son, so smart, is dead wrong on this one! <br />"

"Butch with Tri County Roofing inspected our roof and made repairs. He gave us an honest and accurate report as to the condition of our roof. I really like that he took pictures of the roof and showed us the areas of concern. I will definitely use Tri County Roofing again for our roofing needs."

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse repair projects in Midway, GA

You’ll know it’s time for a new shed roof if shingles curl or buckle, soft spots sag, or water stains appear inside. Moss or other plant growth on the surface is another red flag that moisture has breached the roofing layers. Replacing the roof quickly stops leaks from spreading, protects stored items, and saves you from costlier structural repairs down the road.

Choosing between a flat and a sloped shed roof comes down to climate, budget, and upkeep. A flat roof is cheaper up front, but still needs a slight pitch for drainage. A sloped roof sheds rain and snow more easily, lasts longer, and often needs less maintenance. Weigh your local weather patterns, the look you want, and how much time you’re willing to spend on upkeep before deciding.

A shed roof’s life span hinges on the material you choose and how well you maintain it. Most standard products last 15 to 30 years, while premium picks like slate or clay tile can protect the structure for 50 to 100 years. Regular inspections, fast fixes, and routine cleaning all help you reach the upper end of those ranges and keep your tools and gear dry year-round.
