"Kevin and his crew were very busy but came to me after a day's work to at least cover the roof with a tarp. He saved damage to the house with the extra effort. He and his crew also demonstrated the same high-quality care and workmanship. He determined the trusses were still good and didn't take pay until he felt the job was completed to high standards down to the protective trim. I knew what was to happen each day and the yard was cleaned each day as well. The best crew I've had in all the decades that I've owned houses. Photos of my home on his FB page."

"Had to have 16 feet of rotted sill beam replaced on a 100 year old two story colonial house. It was a challenging job, but Jamin and his hard-working crew it done in two days. The workmanship was excellent and the structure is dramatically better. The price reflected the difficulty of the job and the expertise required to get it done. I good with it all. I would definitely hire Kaes remodeling & contract company for any further work that I couldn't handle myself."

"I could not be more pleased with a company than this one. We had a huge project with a major remodel, taking the house down to the studs, removing walls, adding new Sheetrock and floors, gutting the kitchen and two bathrooms, replacing the roof, and etc. These guys did amazing work!! I recommend them highly."

"They didThis crew did an outstanding job clearing and removing several massive storm‑damaged trees from my property. These were huge, dangerous trees, and they handled everything with real skill, efficiency, and care. They worked safely, cleaned up thoroughly, and were professional and friendly the entire time. If you need big trees removed, this is the team you want. Highly recommended a great job on fallen monster sized trees"

"New installation went well. I was a little upset that only 50% was covered being that the unit was 19 years old. I'm sure that parts for something that old would be hard to find. Replacement was recommended."

FAQs for metal roofing installation and replacement projects in Milbridge, ME

Copper roofs can last 100 years or more, so you’re likely never to need another replacement. Regular maintenance, including annual inspections and occasional cleaning, keeps them in top shape. Work with a licensed roofer for any repairs or inspections to be sure the roof stays watertight and performs as expected.

Cleaning a copper roof averages $460, sealing costs an average of $3 per square foot, and broader repairs cost an average of $6,500.While those figures may seem steep compared to simple maintenance, they’re still far less than the cost of a complete replacement. Staying on top of annual cleanings and quick fixes helps keep costs down and allows the roof to reach its 100-year lifespan.

That green hue is a natural patina that forms as copper reacts with air and moisture. In coastal areas, it can appear in five to seven years; in dry regions, it may take up to 14. The patina shields the copper, so letting it develop is perfectly fine. If you prefer the shiny look, you can have a pro apply a clear sealant and recoat it as needed.

You can paint a copper roof, but it will block the natural patina and may shorten the roof’s lifespan. Once paint goes on, future upkeep becomes more involved—you’ll need to scrape and repaint every few years. Most homeowners skip painting and opt for cleaning or a clear sealant to keep the copper looking its best.

Copper holds up well in nearly every climate. In a humid region, it naturally resists fungus, moss, and algae. In snowy or windy areas, it sheds precipitation and stays firmly in place, as long as it’s installed with room to expand and contract. That flexibility helps the roof stay leak-free through temperature swings and harsh weather year after year.
