Customers say: Quick response

"Carroll Brothers removed our old, in-ground swimming pool. The space was very narrow, but the team got in and worked around the space, demolished the pool, back-filled, and graded our backyard in about 2 1/2 days. They filled in topsoil, and when I noticed that I did not think it was level enough to the manager, Tom, they brought in extra topsoil to build the lawn up higher, regraded, and seeded the lawn. The price remained the same even with the extra soil, and was a fair price, given the bids I had received from other companies in the local market. I would rehire if I had another pool to have demolished."

"Mark was very easy to deal with and very helpful in the planning process. He took time out before the project to meet me at his supply company to point out what specific materials he would be using since I was having a hard time envisioning the final product. I only had two minor complaints after the work was completed. There were several obvious imperfections and aesthetic issues that could have been avoided with a better attention to detail. I noticed them almost immediately when seeing the finished product which was a bit frustrating. Secondly, even after providing a specific location on my property for his employees to dump excess stone and dirt, I still found spoil piles in multiple locations that were left behind. Two of which were apparently hidden(?!) behind bushes right next to the project. Additionally, I found small items of trash around the job site after the crew left. However, I did enjoy working with Mark and would absolutely do so again. I would though, keep a closer eye on his employees and check their work a little more thoroughly during the job and prior to them leaving."

"They called me to schedule quickly but when they came out they informed me that the Angie's Offer did not include building materials, Offer did not clearly state these items as not valid under the offer or excluded."

"We are so grateful for your service, prompt and reliable. The entire crew who came out to work on our sewer line repair was so kind and extremely knowledgeable. When I had a follow up question, they came right back out to check the work, and went above and beyond to make sure my concerns were handled. I highly recommend your company. From our very first emergency call to the completion of the job, to the grass that is already growing to cover the big dig! Thank you for making a very difficult situation as calm and easy as possible. Jenn & Dave Peter, Columbia MD."

"Dave is absolutely the best! We have worked with him for multiple of our projects. Grading and drainage for horse arena, adding a driveway (to include asphalt) with parking pads for trailers, and our latest was drainage and footing for a dry pen for horses. Great communication and always prompt. Jobs are completed efficiently and way above what we thought possible. I’d recommend him to anyone!"

"It went wonderful. They were aware we were having a graduation party the following month, and they completed all work prior to the date. This was done even though we had had a rainy period during the construction. They installed sod to assure our party could take place without any inconvenience. PieScape construction workers were extremely polite and diligent regarding their work. We are very, very pleased with the outcome and received so many compliments about the work that was done.

FAQs for building site preparation and clearing projects in Millersville, MD

A professional team can clear an acre of land in as little as two to twelve hours, depending on your land's condition. You'll need to consider factors like vegetation density, terrain features, and obstacles such as trees, stumps, rocks, or existing structures can increase the time required. If your land is heavily wooded or has uneven terrain, expect the process to take longer and require more effort.

If you're looking to clear land for a pasture, expect to pay between $400 and $600 per acre for forestry mulching or $500 to $5,600 per acre for conventional land clearing. When choosing a method, consider:

  • Forestry Mulching: Leaves organic material in the soil, promoting new ground cover growth.

  • Conventional Clearing: You might lose valuable topsoil during this process.

A land-clearing project typically involves several key steps to prepare your property for construction or landscaping. First, assess your land and obtain any necessary permits from your local building department. Then, professionals use specialized equipment to remove trees, stumps, brush, and vegetation. After clearing, they haul away debris and may perform grading to level the land, ensuring it's ready for your intended use.

Preparing land to build a house typically costs between $1,000 and $4,000, depending on your land's size and condition. This includes clearing space for the foundation, which may involve removing trees, stumps, brush, and leveling or grading the site. Don't forget to budget for additional costs like permits, fees, and installing utility connections such as gas lines, water lines, and sewer mains.
