"His name is Chris Cordan.  It’s ongoing.  He is here weekly.  We’re in the middle of a move and he has taken really good care of our yards for us for probably, I would say, seven or eight years and made them especially pretty while our home is for sale.  He's good.  It's hard to say about the price.  Reasonably priced, but we have him kinda on a contract.  We replant our yard, probably twice a year, for spring and fall colors and he's just excellent at combining colors and plants.  He's excellent at communicating what he wants to do."

"I was very impressed with the owner's demeanor and sincerity. He seemed direct and trustworthy and he proved to be such as well. They did a very good job.  The work was done in two parts as promised- first the paving and then the sealing.  The price was excellent in comparison to other companies. I would use them again and recommend them as well."

"Donnie was quick responding to my initial call and came over to give us an estimate on 1 area of the house along with showing us several pictures of the work he's done.  After the estimate we decided to get a price on 2 other areas in the front.  Donnie was great, he came out and gave us a price to do all 3 areas which is what we did.  Our home is mostly brick with 3 areas surrounding windows that were sided and unsightly.  Donnie installed Arkansas fieldstone in those areas thus enhancing the entire look of the front of our home.  The work was done in 2 days and the crew were friendly and kept eveything cleaned up.  Donnie was on site to personally see that the final product looked perfect which it does.  We've received several compliments already!  We would strongly recommend Donnie Gross for any stonework."

"I contacted them via email and received a return phone call the next day. They came out approximately one week later to give me an estimate. He gave me a verbal estimate before he left and followed up with a written estimate in email about two days later. I assumed that painting my house meant painting my entire house such as doors and gutters but found out that was not included when we got the final bill. The charges for those things were extremely reasonable but I would have preferred being told up front that those would be an extra charge. Those extras added up to about $300 over the estimate. Had it been another $100 I might have had some heart burn about not being told before hand. Aside from that they were very quality conscious and made sure the job was done right and to our satisfaction. They were done in less than a week after I got the estimate. Very professional and customer service oriented. We are very happy with the outcome. Our home looks fantastic! I would use them agai"

"I am very pleased with Progreen. They do a very good job maintaining my property and I love it when they come and neaten things up in my yard. If I could afford it I would certainly have them come and work on my yard every week. We have been using them for quite some time and we have always felt like valued customers."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Millington, TN

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
