"13 months after home warranty work done garage springs broke again. Refused any remedy except paying full price for more expensive springs. Not recommended for home warranty work, customer service is lackluster at best"

"Ricky did a fantastic job! He was able to come same day (on a Saturday in the evening) to fix a broken garage spring. And while this was a nice surprise, the main driver of this 5 star rating was his thoroughness, openness, and knowledge. While he was here, he did a thorough inspection of all garage door parts. He replaced both springs due to age, and noted that the door cables were also fraying, recommending repair now rather than waiting for them to fail. He provided options without pressuring. I will definitely be reaching out to him for future garage repair needs. "

"I was having problems with my garage door not going all the up but clearly had power and motor was working. I submitted an inquiry and Jimmy reached out right away and gave me a couple possible causes. He was able to come immediately the next day. Within an hour, all was fixed. Jimmy was on time, clearly communicated what was going on and professional. I’d highly recommend and will call him again for any future problems. "

Customers say: Quick response

"I required repair on a garage door and he came at 7:00 in the evening on the same day as my phone call. I was unable to close my garage because a cable rusted and broke. He was a very nice man and very professional! I didn't pay exorbant fees for same day service. He is very qualified and come to find out repairing garage doors is not the only thing he can do!"

FAQs for garage door opener repair or adjustment projects in Milwaukee, WI

Garage door costs range somewhat broadly, depending on the type you choose. However, you’ll also need to factor in labor costs, which vary from state to state and between pros.

A chain driven operator costs between $150 - $250. For a belt driven operator it is usually $160 - $450. A screw-driven operator is between $250-$500.

To keep garage door opener repair costs down, you should check that the whole apparatus is working normally on a regular basis. This means making sure that the tracks of your door are greased and fully operational, and that the door itself is in good condition.

Installing a new garage door opener runs from $250 to $500 at least. If your repair costs are close in cost to that range or if your garage door is 10 to 15 years old, you should probably replace it instead of repair.

However, it’s a better idea to fix your garage door opener if it’s less than eight years old or if repair costs are less than replacing.

Garage door openers usually last between 10 and 15 years. However, several factors contribute to how long your garage door opener can last. If you schedule regular inspections and practice proper care, you can maximize your garage door opener’s lifespan, saving money in the long run. As a general rule, practice the same care for your garage door opener as you would the door itself.

These tell-tale signs indicate your garage door is going bad, including:

  • Not closing or opening at all

  • The door reversing when you try to open and/or close it

  • Inconsistent opening and closing; more noise than usual (grinding, scraping, or banging)

  • Sticking or stalling when you try to open or close it

If you experience one or more of these signs, it’s time to call a professional garage door repair service.
