"Dave arrived just as he promised and my door was installed in short time. I'm extremely satisfied with the door that Dave suggested I buy and very satisfied with the job that he did. He left his contact information in case I have any problems but I don't have any trepidation about the door being well installed."

"It went great! I called on a Monday around noon, and Paul came out that evening to give me a quote on 2 replacement garage doors and 2 new, quieter openers. I appreciated that he didn't try to upsell me, while still making me aware of the best options available. The price he quoted was by far the most reasonable estimate I received. We scheduled an appointment for Friday morning, and Joe showed up on time this morning and finished the job within 4 hours. He had everything set up for us and showed us how to program the openers, and even helped me reset the opener in my car. Highly recommend this company!"

"We hired Clear Choice for a complete tear off. The salesman Jeremy answered all of our questions, and the installation crew arrived exactly when he said they would. Clear Choice was knowledgeable and efficient, the clean up was very good, and every time we had a question, they answered us immediately. We now have a beautiful 50 year guarenteed roof and are the envy of our neighborhood. We have also hired Clear Choice to replace our gutters between now and spring, we will be sure to give a review on the gutter replacement once it's done. Thanks Clear Choice!"

"The first day of the job we were very surprised to see the owner David walk through the door ready to work. This to us was very impressive since you usually don't see this. It was neat to watch the progress David and his crew did daily. We went from bare concrete walls to a big beautiful living room, bedroom with a closet and full bathroom. My favorite part was the canister lighting and the speakers throught the living room.Daughenbaugh construction did an amazing job and we would recommend them for any job!"

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Monroe, IA

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
