"I can't say enough about the excellent work that Carolina Contracting did completely demoing an existing wood deck and constructing a new TimberTech deck. The project was challenging. The deck is sixteen feet off the ground with +20 stairs and extensive lighting. It was done on budget and on time. Scott Dean and his team worked hard every day on the project from early morning to dusk. They are true craftsmen. Communication was exemplary throughout the 3-4 week project."

Within the first two days of work, it became clear that the quality, planning, and site safety did not meet professional standards. Issues included inadequate floor and HVAC protection during demolition, failure to seal plumbing, improper handling of a mold issue, lack of basic site coordination (including no dumpster on demo day), and cabinetry ordered incorrectly and modified to fit. Communication was poor, and at one point a worker was left alone on site and asked my husband for instructions on how to complete the work. I terminated the contract early due to these concerns and requested a fair partial refund. I sent a detailed letter with photographic documentation via certified mail, which was signed for. "LVP looks great and tile in the kitchen look great but the trim and baseboards were not finished and I had to have another contractor come in and install them. The stairwell was sanded and stained and I was told they could match the stain for the stairs to the LVP and that wasn’t true either. The stairs came out pink. Now I’m having another contractor come in and fix. I would not recommend to a friend."
