"Erinn was my initial contact and he gave a very through and fair estimate. We had structural work done to support floor joists and large beams under the garage that needed replacing. Ernesto and his team, Julio, Salvatore and Gilder worked tirelessly to complete the work and were respectful, punctual, informative and good humoured throughout the entire process. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others. A really great company!!"

"Bob Warren was simply terrific, i had a great experience consulting on my crawl space. Really, Ive never had a crawl space and while having one in my first home i did not know what to look for that was in need of repair. Bob did a thorough job looking over it for me and very honestly delivered me feedback. Turns out i am not in a dire need of repairs but when i do, i know who to turn to. Thank you Bob, and GroundWorks for the professionalism "

"We had family arriving at midnight on Friday and water started coming up our showers and toilets. LA Hydro-Jet came out at 10pm on a Friday to drain our main line going all the way to the city line, 180 yards. Kyle arrived on time and got right to work, he didn't leave until all of our questions are answered. The price was very reasonable for a Friday night service, you can look up their regular prices on their website, they are very upfront about their costs. We would definitely recommend this company and use them again."

"My experience with Marc at Make it Drain was fantastic. We had a problem with leakage under the house that we thought was fixed when we bought the place. Turns out two years later that something wasn't done right and we had wastewater accumulating from the kitchen. Marc from Make it Drain came out on short notice on the weekend to look at the job, and he gave me a great estimate, educated me about the issues, talked me through the process, and had a friendly but no-pressure approach. I had several other companies out to make estimates, and one of the estimates was three times what Marc quoted me!! When we arranged the job it was easy, and Marc and his guys showed up on time, did exactly what he said he'd do, kept everything super clean, took pictures to show me what was going on, and continued to keep me looped in so I understood everything. It was a painless process, done quickly and professionally. I will call them anytime I have plumbing needs!"

"Alex was able to stop by quickly and started work quickly. He was able to use a snake to loosen the stoppage, and put a camera down where he found roots in our pipe. For this we were charged $500. He does not offer digital copy of the footage (this is a common practice in the industry that I don't like). He was unable to cut the roots as the blades for his snake would not fit through the pipes under the house, and we had no clean out access. He offered to take care of the roots and install a clean out for an additional $1,000. We were able to find another licensed plumber to install a clean out, remove the root, and replace the damaged portion of the pipe for a significantly lower price. Alex is extremely knowledgeable about plumbing, water heaters, and the proper codes. However, I don't appreciate his alarmist attitude toward everything, which I assume is his way of justifying his work and the prices. I don't need to be told the sky is falling when I'm already dealing with backed up toilets."

"I contacted Cody at GL and told him that I needed to replace one of my toilets.  He recommended that I go to the local store and buy the one I wanted rather than have him supply it.  He said that he would pick it up and deliver it.  As soon as I bought it I contacted him and made an appointment.  One of his employees showed up right on time with the new stool.  It took him less than an hour to remove the old one, install the new one and completely clean up everything.  I will definitely call him for future plumbing needs. <br />"

"This company was the first to reply to my request and had the best quote. They really knew their stuff and did a great job. We have an old house so this was more than just replacing a water heater. Gas lines were changed and plumbing changed. We are very happy with the results and the professionalism of this crew!"

"The business owner was very friendly to work with and was able to schedule a sewer inspection very quickly for us. <br /> The team arrived a bit late (20 minutes) but was quick in starting and completing the video inspection of the sewer line for a house we were potentially buying. <br /> We were emailed the link for the video inspection by the next day. The whole video inspection was very thorough with an audio description of the entire system as the camera made its way through all of the piping. <br /> I would recommend this company for sewer inspection and would use them again. <br />"

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Moreno Valley, CA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
