"I was glad with how fast, friendly, easy it went for me to turn it in and get results quickly. They helped with my Angie's discount so it was good to know i got the best price (less than I imagined) to have this done. The possibility of having mold in a house is stressful enough... glad to have this go smoothly."

"Mike Passman, owner of Basement Technologies, was very conscientious and worked hard to correct our water problem. He proposed that a 10 foot ditch be dug around the entire front of the house, two layers of clear plastic and one layer of black was secured to the foundation. the plants and trees were taken out, and the dirt graded so water would flow away from the house. He also redirected underground drain lines and had his backhoe operator take out our driveway which has to be replaced and lowered.

It took him 3 weeks to finish the job, but we had waited months for him to get to us, so it wasn't as long as it seemed. He takes one job at a time and concentrates on that one job - he had a wonderful back hoe operator, Chris Benfield, who was very careful not to disturb the house. Mike came and worked along with his men each day and when we discovered a 5,000 gallon oil tank under ground that had been there at least 40 years he had his backhoe operator get it out of the ground and dispose of it.

He and his men worked from 8 am to dark even when it was raining. They had to miss a couple of days because of the snow. He guarantees his work and we are very happy with what he did for us., They also removed the lighting and irrigation which will need to be re-installed by the landscape contractor, Brandon Jones. He recommended Brandon as someone who would help us with the landscaping and driveway - a very good recommendation that we appreciate."

FAQs for toxicity and mold removal projects in Morganton, NC

Remediation should keep mold from returning as long as the moisture source is eliminated. Fix leaks, control humidity, and replace water-damaged materials, then schedule periodic inspections to stay ahead of new growth. With those safeguards, your home can stay mold-free for the long haul while protecting both health and property value.

Most pros recommend leaving the home while they work on mold remediation. Removing mold stirs up airborne spores that can aggravate respiratory issues, and contractors can work more efficiently in an empty space. A short, temporary relocation keeps everyone in your family safe and lets the crew finish the job without interruption.

Mold shouldn’t return once the moisture problem is fixed. Stay vigilant: repair leaks right away, keep humidity below 50 percent with a dehumidifier placed in damp areas, and improve ventilation where needed. Routine checks for leaks and mold and quick repairs go a long way toward keeping your home mold-free.

Mold spores can trigger nasal congestion, throat irritation, coughing, wheezing, eye irritation, or skin rashes. People with asthma, allergies, or weakened immune systems often feel the effects sooner and more intensely. Some molds also release mycotoxins linked to serious respiratory or neurological issues. Swift remediation and better ventilation are the best defenses.
