"I contacted 5 other companies to replace a 27 year old wooden deck and railings. ONLY one of them showed up to provide an estimate. They were $7K MORE than FF&D for same materials. It was a replacement, not a new build. FF&D Kelsey very nicely followed up via Angies List. I ignored them for almost 3 weeks but Kelsey, kindly, without spamming me, suggested a free estimate at my convenience. I sent a terse reply thinking it would fall thru, but it didn't. Jim was beyond helpful, keeping in touch thru the HOA approval process. Within weeks they had a date for replacement and removal of old decking material. "My 3rd floor deck was way overdue for some major maintenance, and I wanted to go composite, but first I had to find the right contractor to install it. After much searching I settled on the great guys from Joist Construction. They were communicative, affordable and available to start almost right away. Their crew pulled out all of the old boards, brought up all of the new composite wood, and replaced the whole deck in ONE day! They also replaced a joist that was in bad shape and did an excellent job navigating several deck floor penetrations, including uninstalling and reinstalling a lattice that keeps them out of sight. Overall I was incredibly impressed with their speed and attention to detail. Could not ask for nicer guys who went above and beyond to make the experience painless!"
