"Central Exteriors delayed the start of the job by about two months. When the roof was finally installed (Jan 2019), it proved to be shoddy work. In July 2019, it started leaking during heavy rains (the old roof never leaked). They sent someone out to inspect and "fix" it. Here we are 18 months later, July 2020 and the roof is leaking with heavy rains again. They keep promising they will fix the issue, but just send out "supervisors" to inspect it and keep promising they'll solve the issue. Their lack of responsiveness is blatant. No crew has been by to fix the issue. [UPDATE 7/30/2020 - Angie's List] - since posting the review, the company has sent out two supervisors to inspect the roof and they found the problem. Part of the roof had been installed incorrectly. They fixed it and recaulked the section. We haven't had a heavy downpour since then, but the hose test showed no leaking."

"We received a drive-by visit in early September from Presidential Exteriors canvassing the neighborhood and while we knew we were living on borrowed time, with our roof last replaced before 1991, we don't do business with companies we don't know and trust. In this case I said no thank you, and the canvasser made a last comment that struck a chord, to look them up online. After checking their references, even though a fairly new company, they had very positive feedback in Angie's List. I then called and made an appointment and my wife and I were impressed with the salesperson, Ben (we've never had someone climb around the unfinished attic in completing their assessment) for his knowledge, genuineness, detail, and approach, and we signed a contract to renovate our roofing with architectural tiles and to install wider gutters (all in preparation for global warming). Over two days, the crew of two performed an amazing job at removing multiple layers of very old shingles (resulting in less full shingles being removed, and mostly partially torn pieces) and the care and cleanup left the full area around the house and bushes almost clean. Understandably, with any re-roofing I cannot imagine you wouldn't have some small amount of cleanup and a few full handfuls of nails and staples over the following months. In our case, in the subsequent week we have found over 60 nails so far using our own magnetic broom (purchased at Home Depot). The third day found the crew finishing the roofing and the other contractors arriving to remove and install the new gutters. So far, the new roof and rain gutters look great and we're cautiously awaiting the approaching storm season."

"William Mackay is a generational roofer in the area with tons of experience on all kinds of roofs, including slate, flat, and shingle roofs, specifically in DC. Our main roof is slate but the back additions are asphalt shingle. After promptly repairing holes in the pitch of our slate roof he approached us with an issue regarding our back addition. He showed us a video his men took of how it was improperly installed and that we would be having issues with the roof - if not now, then in the very near future. IT was shingle stapled into metal roof - no wood or anything which is not up to code. He gave us no pressure at all but it was clear we would be having issues with the roof. We decided to have it reinstalled and that day (it was a Friday) he brought two work teams on site to have it done that afternoon. "Only good things to say .. Arrived at 6am and ready to work.. Joe and Wyatt were involved throughout the whole project. Even when some simple mistakes happened. For instance, my window screen was ripped buy a flying rouge roof shingle. I call Joe & Wyatt and within a 1/2 hour it was taken care of.
