"Zach showed on time and went right to work, even though my job was very small he and his workers made me feel like it was a very important job and that it was the largest job that they had. He went above just hooking it up but also programmed it and set the on off time. Any other electrical that I have I would not hesitate to call him. I would also recommend him and his crew to anyone, for residential or business electrical needs."

"Negotiating the job with Sheryl was a delight. She got right back to me with the job details and estimate and was able to arrange a special Saturday appointment. The price was by far the best. Jose arrived exactly on time and did a very professional job, instructing us on the operation of the fans and remote. He removed the old fans and packaging leaving no mess. I would highly recommend Hegge and would definitely hire them again."

"It was very easy to communicate with Eric and he was responsive. While here, I also asked for advice about other things that might need done and he was open and honest so that I didn't get the sense he was trying to up-sell or generate business unnecessarily. The workmanship was top-notch. I gave all 'A's in the ratings, but with a 'B' (good) for price. His bid was in line with others. There were some discounts being offered on Angie's list by other electrical providers, but none of them were very local to me, which I wanted. So, his price was absolutely market-place reasonable and the work was done very well. I would definitely use EM electrical again."

"We signed the contract with Verengo 03/07/14 to lease the solar panels. The panels were installed on 4/10/14 and the team was very professional and quick. A few concrete tiles were broken during the installation but they were replaced the next day. There was a code problem that arose when the City came to inspect but again it was corrected (at no cost to us). Everything was approved at the second inspection. On 05/12/14, we were notified that we could flip the switch to activate the panels.  We will be saving approximately $100.00 a month on our electric bill and are very happy with the work done by Verengo.
You can contact Verengo at 1-877-403-4354.

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Mountain-center, CA

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
