"They were absolutely amazing to work with. Our house is 118 years old and they hadn't been updated since the 70s. They treated my home like their own. I am beyond happy with the end result"

"It went better than I thought, the assessment went well, but during the walk through, other things were brought to my attention, that I hadn't thought of...I was advised to also address those items over looked and suggestions were given for my consideration, which were excellent additions, that would make my property more valuable than What I was contemplating...I plan on hiring kish construction again for future projects...very satisfied."

"Amazing work! Todd, owner of Alone Eagle Remodeling, works with you from start to finish. From the initial meeting, he provided great insight on our bathroom remodeling job and gave us different ideas and options. He explains the project in detail, so you know exactly what you are getting and when it will be finished. During the month-long job, Todd was punctual and communicated his progress. You can see the care that he puts into his work. He keeps the work space and your home clean. We are very happy with our bathroom and would recommend Todd to anyone."

"The owner was reliable, knowledgable, and informative through the whole process. He and his employes were respectful and did an excellent job. We were pleased that the owner of JDV Contracting not only stayed on budget, but saved us money in areas of materials. When he found deals in areas (such as trim), he upgraded us in other areas (such as solid doors from hollow core doors). Whenever he found he could save in other areas, he checked to see if we wanted upgrades or to keep the items we originally planned! We would definitely recommend and use JDV Contracting again!"

"i contacted Ernie to do a chimeny inspection and cleaning for this upcoming season. He came to the house and was very open and friendly. He checked the chimeny, said it was good and then cleaned out the inside of the wood burner stove. He noticed I had issues with the shingles on one side of my home and he also checked the flat roof on the other side of my home. He gave me his opinion after providing me pictures with what my roof looked like.... <br /> <br /> this is a family business and his wife and 2 sons worked on various things that needed to be done... <br /> <br /> the fireplace was a very tedious process, however when Ernie was done it looked really good...I was quoted by another contractor of 500.00 to complete the process and Ernies price was 248.00. he and his wife worked on the fireplace while his sons worked on the roof...."

"My kitchen is beautiful and finely done. Through his experience and contacts he guided me to better product at better cost. He was here each day early with a very pleasant attitude, no matter what surprise occurred in the remodel, he solved it easily. I would recommend him to anyone who wished to have a wonderful experience with a contractor."

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Muncy, PA

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
