"There were many pros and only one major con through my entire experience, but it was enough to bump my review down to 3 stars. You might think it should be lower when you get done reading this. I'll start with the negative as that is what everyone will be interested in. Job: Siding replaced on 2-story home as well as put plywood on beneath siding. In short: IF DID NOT WATCH THEM 24/7 AND CLIMB UP ON THE ROOF TO CHECK THE WORK MYSELF, I WOULD HAVE BEEN OUT estimated $8K IN SHEATHING / LABOR AND HAD A HOUSE THAT WAS SEVERELY WEAKENED AND POSSIBLY NOT UP TO CODE. Somehow, large parts of my second floor were missing siding. You could literally take the old siding off and punch a hole through through to the drywall inside with your fist. I paid a significant amount of money (estimating $8,000) to have plywood put on everywhere it was missing. The crew that came out, first off, was not given any plywood on day one and was not aware they were adding sheathing (plywood). They started putting the insulation in, and I had to come out several times during the day to tell them to stop and take it down because there was no plywood behind the insulation. On the third day, I had to leave the house all day. When I came back, all the old siding had been taken down and the insulation was put up. I climbed up on the roof with a screwdriver and POKED A HOLE THROUGH THE INSULATION RIGHT TO MY DRYWALL! The entire wall was not sheathed properly. When the crew came back, I played dumb and asked if it was done properly, and they insisted it was. Lied right to my face. I guess they didn't think I would get up and check. Well I did, and I dragged them up there with me. They mumbled something about a good catch and tore off all the insulation and started again. If I were an elderly couple, I would have been ripped off completely here and no one would have caught it. I was disgusted. The worst part was, other than an apology from the company and $200 off for non-related damage done accidentally by the installers as well as some minor items not taken care of, there was no compensation for this massive mistake. Now for the good, pretty much everything else. The house looks great a couple weeks afterwards. The vinyl siding has much more flexibility than the previous siding, but I guess that is normal. Color is great. The crew did lots of little extras and worked hard each day they were here and cleaned up the yard nicely. I thought the price was decent, and the sales rep was fine if not a bit time consuming (I guess some people are way more into the details than I am which is good if that is you). They came out to do the job 3 months ahead of schedule (only downside was I had to scramble to come up with the funds much quicker than expected). So why three out of five stars with such a horrific oversight? There are lots of moving parts in this company, and I don't think there was a full blown conspiracy by all involved to cheat me out of what I paid for. I wish the site manager would have noticed some of what I noticed, but he did not seem to be there most of the time. In the end, I believe I got what I wanted, paid them, and have moved on with my life. My experience makes me nervous for someone who might not be as agile or readily available to monitor the work as I did. If you are getting similar work done and can't micromanage the crew yourself, don't be afraid to hire someone you trust that can watch over a crew to make sure you get what you paid for. I bet a couple hundred dollars a day could save you big time in the long run. A shame it has to come to that though."

"Lamont did a great job on the many items I needed done. I had a list of work to be done but was having trouble finding one person who could or would do them all. After much searching I found Lamont and read his great reviews. Now I know why. He was able to complete everything on my list! From installing new storm door, replacing interior doors and hardware, repairing holes and painting closets, hanging ceiling fans, cutting marble backsplash and installing, etc. He is very patient and listens to what you want then completes the work nicely. He is polite, respectful, and professional. He was able to work me into his schedule quickly and completed the work in the amount of time estimated and for the price quoted. I highly recommend him for anything you need done and when I need something he is the only person I'll be calling.... I am very thankful to have found him."

"The job was wonderful but the warranty was/is non existent. Great sales job on the high end siding showing on how tough it was (it's not). I've had it on the house for 15 years but about 9 years ago we had the one piece of siding crack from a tree limb hitting it in a storm and had to hire another company to fix it. Morgan said it was a bullet - odd it didn't go through the foil insulation behind the siding. We are in the same situation again with more damage and I can't even pay Morgan to fix it. The Siding is VERY brittle!"

"I live in an older home and was having weird leaking issues…I went in search of help and found a nearby local company Tisdale Construction. I called and spoke with Frank who was more than helpful. He asked numerous questions and felt maybe he should refer me to the “roof whisperer,” Brian Pinamonti. Per Frank, Brian called me and he found I didn’t need my windows replaced or any structural repairs. It was a flat roof issue that was correctly diagnosed and fixed. Believe it or not Frank called to check with me and make sure I was okay and that his referral worked out for me. Above and beyond standard business procedures!"

"So far so good. We decided to make the first payment so John could submit paperwork to the factory. When the approval from the home owners association came the factory was ready to begin our order. Each window and door is custom made to fit the openings, which you can imagine are anything but identical. John had informed us that once he placed the order, it would be 6-8 weeks. We'd hoped for sooner than later to be ahead of rainy season, but they did arrive at just about 8 weeks. By then daily thunder and lighenting storms were a reality and this did result in the installation taking longer than anticipated. The doors and windows are installed from the outside. In T-storms, the crew had to stop. All of the crew members were very polite and professional and generally took precautions to minimize the mess. I also would come home to find them vacuuming and cleaning up. I was glad to only be home from work the first day as it gave me a headache listening to hammers, breaking glass, saws and watching how difficult it was to remove the old windows and doors. That they seemed to work so patiently in extremely hot and humid conditions, I found amazing! We've owned a number of homes and the one thing that we immeditatlely noticed was the carefully done caulking. They did a fabulous job! Now that the installation is complete, there is no doubt that they are very energy efficient. Although they are much heavier the glide is ever so much better than the builders grade stuff that was replaced. It is also more difficult to see in from the outside, and has made the house quieter as we hear almost no outside noise, except the motorcyle of a neighbor when he comes and goes. Every door and window passed inspection, with several positive comments by the inspector about the workmanship. The electric bills are noticably smaller. Rooms that were too hot to use without turning down the thermostat to keep the A/C running are about as comfortable as the rest of the house without adjusting a thing. We are absolutely thrilled with how the project turned out and we have no doubt whatsoever that we made the right choice in both materials and contractor. Our friends in Temple Terrace used Stanek about 2 years ago and they are known to be quality conscious as well as frugal. They had strongly encouraged us to consider Stanek, as their smaller sized project which they did in stages because of the cost also went extremely smoothly. If we move to another home in FL, we would definitely put this type of project at the top of our list and wouldn't even look at another contractor but Stanek. We bought a lot of peace of mind from future storms. We also were able to get a reduction in our home owners premium."

"Fred from Florida Lifetime Impact Window and Doors was the last of five representatives that we interviewed for our project. He was also the only non-sales type we had seen. Fred was able to offer us the best product we'd considered (Gorrell) for the lowest price (the cost was comparable to other, inferior products). He also explained all insurance, licenses and certifications that the company holds and further increased our confidence by letting us know that the work would be performed by company employees, not sub-contractors. Fred provided the fastest yet most complete and honest presentation of all. Thenceforward, the progress was seamless. Ken handled the communications perfectly, scheduling and performing the engineering inspection in a prompt and professional manner and keeping us informed as to the progress of the project at all times. As soon as the windows had arrived form the factory, Ken let us know and scheduled the install for the next day. Unfortunately, I was out of town that day and didn't witness the process myself but when I got home in the evening, it was as if a 'window wizard' had waved his wand and changed our crappy old jalousie windows into something marvelous. There was no evidence (except for the new windows) that any work had been done! The place was spotless inside and out...no trash, debris or damage. Everything looked beautiful. My wife was there during the install and was completely at ease with the presence of the crew who were polite, efficient and tidy in their work, cleaning as they went. We had eleven windows replaced. The team started at about 08:30 and were finished by about 4pm. Florida Lifetime provided not only an excellent product but probably the best customer relations and contractor service I have ever experienced. I am absolutely delighted."

"Roof X personnel were given two days for starting the work with one firm date for completion of work (five days later). Roof X selected the latter start day during our negotiation and completion of required permits. However, the early start date was left open. Roof X ultimately selected the early start date and finished the job early. Work crews announced themselves daily. Work performed was expedient. Crews cleanup debris daily before departing. There was no damage to gutters or any exterior components of the house (screened pool area). Likewise, the "Crew" determined in had deteriorated plywood roof decking that needed replacing. I was contacted prior to repair for a "notice to proceed". The estimate of addition decking replacement, was considered fair and reasonable (as a previous vendor indicated swaying roof decking). In determining the additional material needed, Roof X representatives sent digital images / pictures of my roof to ensure I was completely informed regarding the amount decking replacement material needed, and the specific areas needing new decking. Additionally, I had a small section of 2"x4" facade that was rotten from moisture, this was replaced as needed. The the final home inspection concerning the roof replacement by my County Building Department went seamless. No errors or omissions were noted. I received the roof warranty documents promptly upon final payment for services rendered."
