"We originally found AMS via Angie's List, and the owner came out very quickly to do a free inspection and talk to use about everything he was seeing -- high potential for mold within the walls of the shower, and other possible areas (on drywall of opposite side of walls, floor, etc.) He showed us all readings on the tools he was using, talked to us in detail about what he recommended -- namely, complete destruction of the tile-walled shower due to multiple instances of bad grout (old shower) and the resultant mold problem within the walls as well as on the floor of the shower. He also recommended some touch-up painting with anti-mold paints where water spotting occurred on our main level ceiling, rather than a more complex/expensive and in his view unnecessary ceiling patch. His crew was excellent, keeping things very clean and on schedule and luckily no major issues were found besides demolishing just the existing shower and raising up the old linoleum flooring followed by completely painting all exposed areas with Aftershock anti-mold primer paint to minimize problems in the future. He stayed at the estimate of about $3K for this work as agreed. (I eventually put in a new shower and floor myself.) For his second visit, he came out for another free inspection of some mold exposed in a main level bathroom ceiling when some plaster that had been wet down a few years ago when doing some cleaning broke away. This was a very small mold spot, and had a companion of some other mold shadowed behind wallpaper. AMS did another free inspection of this problem for me today, and advised that it was something I could definitely handle myself - ceiling and walls were bone-dry all around the area and it would be simple to just remove a patch of the wallpaper (which we plan to remove in this room anyway), scrub the mold with appropriate cleaner, re-plaster the small area of the ceiling that would need it, and then paint with Aftershock primer paint. He even gave me recommendations on places to get all my materials, including the brush I would need to match the existing ceiling texture. Even when I offered to pay for the inspection, he refused -- just asked me to write up a couple reviews, which I'm happy to do. I'm the type of person that likes to find high-quality businesses to form relationships with. As much as no one wants to use a mold remediation service, I would definitely call AMS again if I need to."

"Bill Martins Flood Crew is excellent. In December, just before Christmas, my finished rec room flooded when my sump pump failed--soaked carpet, cardboard boxes, books, furniture with sewer water. I thought I would not find anybody this time of year to help me. But I called Bill Martins from Flood Crew, and he came out right away. He looked at the basement and gave me an analysis of my damage on the spot. He was wonderful. He took care of getting detailed estimates to my insurance company and then made arrangements for me with all the needed specialists. First, I wouldn't have known where to start, and second I wouldn't have had a clue whom to call. I needed crews to remove the carpet, cut out drywall all around to dry it out, check for mold, test for asbestos, and then remove everything. And, of course, fixing the sump pump, installing flooring, putting everything back, and lots of details in between. All of this obviously can't be completed in a week or even a month. My work was not the only project that busy contractors had. My situation was far more complicated than I thought it would be. Ultimately, it took four months, which I thought was very reasonable. And the result is so beautiful--no corners cut, no putting up with mediocre results, all this for the same price and time or less than others quote. Be patient. Be flexible. "It went extremely well! They were punctual, hardworking and professional. It was necessary to dig up my neighbor's landscaping, so they were very careful to disturb only what was necessary and to restore everything to its original condition. They even replaced her broken underground downspout extension (which was draining into my basement!) without comment or additional charge. When my neighbor accused them of causing a problem, MJ was quick to respond and the team on-site made a point of apologizing to her in person. I don't think MJ caused the problem, so I was very impressed that they "went high" to investigate the matter and, as I said, apologize for the inconvenience she felt she suffered. The work they did inside to remove mold and seal the wall was thorough and neat. The gentleman doing the work cleaned up everything and took all of his equipment and trash with him. his is especially important since he was working with strong chemicals. "The biggest problem I had with this company was responsiveness before the work was done. After calling them to use the coupon, it took a while to get them to my house to do an estimate. Then it took over a week to actually get the estimate so I could schedule the work. And then two weeks to get on the schedule.
With that said, the person they sent did a FANTASTIC job. I had a section of rotted wood above my entry door and it had been a problem area for years apparently. The last time I had to have the wood replaced the previous owners had not told me about termite damage behind this section. Anyway, this time around the service person said that we would fix it right.
He scraped out all of the damaged wood and replaced the damaged section with a PVC-based solution so I'll never have to worry about it rotting again. All I have to do is keep it painted and caulked.
I'm VERY happy. It looks great. He was very pleasant, friendly, professional. He explained everything to me and he worked until he finished.
The likelihood that the 3 hours included in the coupon will cover your work when there is rot involved --it took 6 hours and the materials cost $160.00. With that said, it could've ended up costing a lot more so I definitely recommend taking advantage of the coupon deal if they offer it again.

"Flood Doctor was called after heavy rains flooded our basement. They came out immediately and started working. They packed out everything and moved it out of the basement. After which they extracted all the water from our basement and placed equipment there for several days to dry everything. My mother and I were very pleased with the level of professionalism and responsiveness of the flood doctor crew. 
Their team at the office was also just as helpful when it came time for us to file an insurance claim. This being our 1st claim for our home we had no idea where to start. They documented everything and gave us everything that

"Mike from OMA was able to do the work in spite of freezing temperatures. He was professional, polite, and knowledgeable. The carpet had not been cleaned in over seven years. It had several stains that were several years old. Mike was able to eliminate the vast majority of spots and stains. He was also able to complete the work quickly in spite of the weather."

Due to a minor water leak a section of drywall about 8' x 2' had been cut out. The trim in this area and on the other side of the hall plus a closet had to be placed as well. The drywall and trim had been removed due to a small amount of mold from the water leak.  I called George's painting due to all the great reviews here on Angie's list.  I received an estimate on this work and in addition I asked for an estimate on some painting.  I thought the estimate was very fair. George was extremely professional and even came to look at what the job entailed late on a Friday evening as he was returning from other jobs on his way back to his office. This was absolutely fine with me as I had no plans to go anywhere.  George sent my estimate first thing Monday morning.

In the end I used George's only for the drywall and trim work. The job was easily scheduled and the 2 man crew did an outstanding job. I couldn't even tell there had been any damage. The trim work was outstanding as well with nice miter cuts. It lined up well with the existing molding where the miter cuts met.  It only took them approximately 4 hours to do the job.  I plan to call George's in the future for outside painting of my house.
