Small jobs welcome

"Kris White delivered exceptional, trustworthy service. He communicates promptly, listens carefully, and pays close attention to detail. He is honest about next steps, even spotting mold and foundation concerns and recommending a specialist before proceeding, which saved me money. Kris is a dedicated family man who stepped up to help his own community during the Nashville freeze storm. If you are evaluating a handyman, call Kris first you will be impressed from the start. "

"Allen was great! He installed a jack system in our crawl space to help with some settling issues we had which caused our bathroom door to not close and a crack in the wall. He got every thing leveled—our door closes now and he fixed our drywall! He even resealed our kitchen sink that had unstuck. He’s thorough and does his job very well. Would 10/10 recommend! Even gave us tips on how to keep our home warm/cool during the seasons. Thanks Allen!"

Customers say: Quick response

"Dale was simply great to work with. So far I've hired him for five different projects this year alone. (2025) 1.) Remove and replace the entire back deck and staircase. On time and done in three days! 2.) Chalk and fill wood areas on the new deck and then painted it. Primer paint first and then two coats of paint. My back deck is second to none! 3.) Front porch: Chalk and fill wood areas that needed it, replace rotten wood and then primer paint/ two coats of paint. It looks awesome! 4.) Remove and replace three doors. The front door and two French doors downstairs. Perfect installation, no more drafts and all doors are air tight! 5.) Electricity installation to my 10 X 20 shed. (Man Cave electricity!) I cannot tell you how happy I am with Dale and his staff. On time, on budget, fair pricing and quality work. In 2026 I look forward to hiring Dale for some interior work and hopefully a three door carport. In closing, I give full permission to RDA to post pics of their work on my home. "

"I hired Mesa Family Agency for a handyman job to assemble my new TV stand, and I’m really impressed with their work. They arrived on time, were very professional, and completed the assembly in about four hours. Everything was done with precision, and the stand looks perfect and sturdy. The price was $200, and it was absolutely worth it. I highly recommend them for any handyman services!"

"Very timely on both quote and actual job. Their crew was efficient nice to work with and I would hire them for my next job. The crew went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. Also took on a window screen fix that wasn't in the initial job."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Nashville, TN

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
