"Acculevel did a super job for us! We have a house that was built in 1902 with a small crawl space. They fixed ALL our problems and did NOT have to tear up the floors. Our floors are level and stable. They were professional and neat. I would hire them for any basement or foundation issues you wont be sorry! 10 stars to the crew"

"First, I would like to say your crew was nice to work with. We have not had enough rain to see if the job was a success or not. I would like to say that we were disappointed in the installation of the egress window well, but after your crew came back out and repaired it, it looks good. We were not happy that your crew did not say anything about the damage that was done to the rain gutter and soffit. I do not think they would have said anything if I would not have seen it and said something. When your crew came back to repair the egress window well, they told me they would go get some paint and paint it. That was not done, and that would not have fixed the gutter and soffit that is only a year old. Now to the inside, we think your crew did a good job installing the drain tile, removing the debris, and cleaning things up, however, we are not happy with the way the concrete was put back in. It is not smooth, there are stones showing, and we think we could have done a better job. When your crew came back out to repair the egress window well, they said they could grind off the high spots, but I told them not to bother because it will still look like a kid did the job."

"Had a pre-existing basement wall crack leak for the first time due to early March rain this year. My phone call went directly to the owner. Pleasant conversation to assess my situation and set up a time that fit my schedule to come take a look a few days later. He himself came to my house, was thorough in his inspection and recommended his patented repair giving a full explanation of why. He gave estimate on site, left, and his son called the next business day to set up the repair. Scheduling was flexible to fit my schedule. Arrived on time for repair. Two-man crew was meticulous in not making nor leaving a mess. Repair took less time and effort than estimated, and as a result my bill was adjusted on the spot to be less than the estimate. Great father and sons business that I would recommend for value, service, knowledge and attention to detail"

"The weather caused understandable delays for the start of the project but once they got started they were here every day, on time and worked hard. They were respectful of the yard and went out of there way to minimize any damage and keep as much of the landscaping as possible. They excavated two walls completely to the footings and put in bigger diameter drain tile for the three walls that had a problem. Two walls were cracked and bowed in at the top almost 6 inches. The front frost wall under the cement porch was also bowed in which caused the front porch to sag bad enough to distort the vinyl siding under the roof overhang. When the house was built there was no backfill placed behind the porch frost wall that allowed it to tip in. No drain tile to drain off water was originally installed along the footing of the frost wall and the frost wall was backfilled with clay. These three poor workmanship issues were the cause of the front porch movement. The freezing and melting caused the frost wall to bow in which caused the sagging of the porch and the cracking of the three layers of brick under the porch (decorative). Some of the bricks below the porch slab actually fell out. There were also cracks in the front brickwork above the porch slab especially where the two front bowed windows met the front brickwork on the house proper. To support the cement porch they built a commercial block wall in front of the existing tipped frost wall. The wall extended to the footing for the three fourths the length of the porch. The base footing at each end of the frost wall cracked causing the ends to settle more than the rest of the frost wall. This repair required a pier at each end of the frost wall to raise and support the footings and level the entire span below the front cement porch. A laser was used to insure the frost wall repairs were straight. Bricks were replaced via new mortar as necessary and any cracks in the brickwork were retucked with new mortar. Four inch drain tile was added along the length of the porch frost wall and the three repaired walls were back filled with clear stone to insure no drainage problems in the future. The two full length walls were jacked out straight, cracks filled with hydraulic cement and sealed with epoxy sealing compound on both sides (inside and out). High density foam sheets were stuck to the rolled on epoxy seal coating. Rectangular steel tubing reinforcement beams were added on the inside of the walls as necessary. They were bolted at the top to the floor joists and embedded in new concrete in the basement floor. Additional work included re-plumbing the two existing sub pump discharges that were originally Y'ed together, adding PVC lines for three eve trough downspouts to the storm drain connection. These were added for minimum additional cost (parts only). The yard was also grading for proper drainage away from the house. The grading had to be redone as some water would still puddle between the house and the neighbors. This minor issue was done hassle free without any resistance. The final bill came in $1K below the estimate quote (not expected with the additional things they did for parts only cost). ABR cares about the quality of their work and the satisfaction of their customers. They did a very professional, cost effective repair. Lessons learned; all the basement foundation issues were caused by the walls being backfilled with clay when the house was built 31 years ago. The clay retains water which because of its weight adds pressure to the outside of the walls. Freezing and melting for over 30 years caused the wall movement. These were poured walls not block but no wall will survive these stresses forever. The repairs are guaranteed for 20 years (transferable) and the clear stone will insure no water buildup against the walls and I'm confident any problems in the future. <br />"

"Almost perfect. Their crew was amazing. Very hard workers. There was a small issue but Basement Specialists stood behind their work and the issue was resolved. That's really all you can expect. We shopped around and there are well known companies doing a similar type of work with a bigger price tag. I also like Basement Specialists contract and warranty better than the competition, because they promise to take responsibility for anything that could go wrong and they did. BE CAREFUL AND READ BEFORE YOU SIGN CONTRACTS FOR HOME REPAIR."

"Excellent job.  We are very happy with the results. <br /> I did not know much about siding, but knew we did not want vinyl siding. <br /> We called 3 contractors. One contractor did not show up for a quote.  The 2nd contractor just gave a quote and did not provide any explanation of the options. <br /> Now when we spoke with Tim from Al Borchardt & Son, he listened and provided explanations and a number of options I was interested in.. <br /> the other contractor did not indicate we could add more insulation or even tyvex, where Tim did. Tim wasn't pushy on the options, just set it out there based on what I was interested in. <br /> This was the reason we went with Al and Tim for the job. <br /> The work went very well,  Tim and Al were very good at making sure it looked good and paid attention to detail. <br /> The result was very good, we are very happy in the way it turned out. <br /> Also, when we had a minor issue with moving the Power meter, he spoke with an Electrician as to how we needed to get it moved the correct way.  They went the extra mile on this. <br /> Another item was that they paid extra care when removing the stone from the front of the house.  Tim put down plywood and straps to safely remove the stone without injury or cracking the concrete stoop. <br /> Also, another positive thing was they used USA manufactured materials. <br /> Over all we were very happy with the work and would recommend them to anyone. <br /> We even had a few neighbors comment that the siding looked really good and that they did good work. <br /> We made sure we got some business cards to give to anyone who asked. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"I needed to put in a concrete barrier. Andrej came by and gave a very low estimate. I was initially concerned about the low bid. I was also concerned about the low scores from other reviewers on Angie's list. I noticed however that many of the reviewers had not actually used Andrej's services and were simply concerned by his low bid or maybe his accent. Who knows.  <br /> Needless to say, I had Andrej complete the work. He did a great job on the concrete. He came back after a couple of days to repair spots in the concrete that I did not notice and did not care if the spots were repaired. Andrej insisted on making the repairs.  <br /> I have used Andrej on second job already. He did a great job on the second concrete project too. <br />"

"Scott did a great job on fixing my multiple issues and even did some foundation crack repair that he saw while fixing our front stairs. Scott promptly got back to me when I inquired about getting this work done. I had reached out to 3 other masons and none of them got back to me. Would definitely have Scott come back for any future work I may need."

"<p>Just wanted to drop a line or two and let you all know how impressed we were with both your workmen and their work.  In today's society, you just don't find companies that really do a great job, they usually just do enough to "get by".<br /> <br /><br /> <br />At times, without their knowledge, I was home and could hear some of the men talking.  Much to my surprise, their language and subject matter were always appropriate.  Don't find that much in the labor force today!  It spoke volumes to me.  When they did speak with us, they were always very kind and informative.<br /> <br /></p> <p>The work that was performed consisted of excavating the dirt to gain access to the footings on both sides of the foundation.  On the inside, they had to bust out the concrete floor and hand dig to the footing in order to install their brackets for the "unified lift system".  After installing the brackets, they attached special hydraulic equipment to the brackets which drove 3" diameter<br /> <br />pipes down to bedrock.  Next, they attached a hydraulic jacking system to each pier location.  Using their special vehicle with a unique hydraulic pumping system they attached hydraulic lines to each location and were able to do a controlled lift.  From what we understand, your company is one of the only ones that can perform this "unified lift".<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />We were taking pictures daily and emailing them out to family and friends who could not believe their eyes!  They started out making our basement look like a bomb went off and when they were done it was swept and looking very nice!<br /> <br /><br /> <br />All this to say that the work done was absolutely astonishing!  We will highly recommend EHM to everyone that we hear may need this type of work completed.<br /> <br /><br /> <br />Thanks so much again.  We were dreading having this work completed, but you all made it so much nicer by your<br /> <br />expertise, kindness, and professionalism.</p> <p>Mike and Cheryl <br /> <br /></p> <br />"

FAQs for concrete foundation repair projects in Neenah, WI

Visible cracks, water leaks, uneven floors, or walls that won’t line up are classic red flags. You might also notice sticking windows, doors that no longer latch, or exterior cracks crawling up brick or siding. Even a damp, musty basement can hint at trouble. If you spot any of these, call a foundation pro right away. Early inspections cost far less than waiting until the damage threatens your home’s stability.

Yes, foundation problems impact your home’s value. Buyers want proof that the foundation is stable, and a recent, professional repair can actually boost confidence in your home. You’ll need to disclose the work, but documentation showing the structure was properly stabilized, especially with piers in regions known for shifting soil, often reads as a plus, not a problem. Skipping repairs, on the other hand, can cut your sale price and shrink the pool of interested buyers. Taking care of the issue protects both value and peace of mind.

Foundations are engineered for exceptional longevity when constructed correctly and maintained diligently. Concrete slab foundations remain structurally sound for 200 years, while other foundation types deliver integrity between 75 and 100 years. Regular professional inspections and timely maintenance further secure a foundation’s lifespan and ensure your home stays safe over the long term.
