"I called on a Friday and they were able to send somebody on Monday morning. I'm not sure if it was because they contacted me through Homeadvisor or because I was hesitant to have them come out without even a ballpark price, but they waived the trip charge. I told them that I had a leaking shower faucet and expected that the cartridge just needed to be replaced. I received a phone call and text 40 minutes before the tech's arrival as promised. Jake showed up on time and offered to wear the booties everybody brings these days, but between the time he spent sitting in his van and then writing up a quote after glancing at the faucet, it was at least half an hour before I even had the quote. My choices were $412 for the cartridge or $700+ to replace at least the valve and maybe more and then repair drywall. I assume the quote was written this way to trigger the upsale, but I will be selling my home soon and the drywall that didn't even need to be removed for this repair is already being replaced as part of a separate repair project. I was surprised that he didn't bring shower cartridges on the van since it seems like a common repair, and I'd specifically told them that's what I needed. He was gone for over an hour to get one from the supply center. Once he returned, he turned off the water, then went back to the van for a bit. Once he started on the faucet, it took maybe half an hour to swap out the cartridge. When he was done, Jake had me sign a few times, then emailed me an invoice with no text describing the service performed, just the total. I told him I needed some explanation of what was done, and he re-sent it with a blurb explaining a Moen cartridge was replaced and has a one year warranty. About an hour after Jake left, I received a follow up phone call to confirm everything was completed to my satisfaction. I have no complaints about the work, everybody was pleasant enough to deal with, and I know they create their quotes straight from a pricebook, but 3 hours and $412 to complete a 30 minute repair that requires a part costing no more than $50 just seems excessive."

"It went great. I first noticed the problem when I went to take a shower the Thursday night before the Memorial day weekend. I had to work the next day and ICE COLD shower awaited me! So after I suffered through hypothermia ... The next morning I contacted a company via their website about my problem but the website and quot;request for serviceand quot; page was not working. Then I did a quick search to see who else in the area might be able to help me. I noticed Golden Rule was close to my house and put in a request for service on their website just like the first company. Within an hour I has a call back and a service technician at my house within 4 hours, and this apparently is not rush service, if they are available they come, even on weekends or holidays and it's not extra $$$. Also, I was at work the day after the hot water heater stopped working they gave me a window between 12 and 4pm they could be there but said they would give me a 30 minute courtesy call, which was perfect because it takes me about that long to get home from work. Made arrangements at work, got the call, headed home. Technician arrived shortly after greeted me friendly and looked me straight in the eyes asked me about the problem, wrote stuff down, put on some shoe covers to protect my house against dirt from his shoes and asked me to show him the water heater.
I took him to the heater and he looked at it, looked at the manual, made some phone calls, watched it got through a cycle of trying to light but not lighting the pilot light. I asked him some questions about what he thought was going on, I'd already sort of explored what might be happening/ not happening. We answered all my questions, gave me some options what he thought was going on, quoted some estimate prices and estimated times for repair. I also have a cat that is very and quot;personableand quot; and she came down to see the technician. I offered to put her away but he said it was fine she stayed and he even patted her and he acted like it was no big deal. Then he went to his car to make some calls to find the part I needed, then went and got it across town. He returned, replaced the part and it started working. I had hot water by the evening :) It took about 3.5 hours in total. This was same day service! I was very impressed at their professionalism, quality, friendliness of the technician! I would highly recommend!

"They did really well in what we had them do.  One of reasons why we chose them over some of the competitors was that they were willing to help with some of the preparations of the tear-out and things.  They were serving more than a general solution provider rather than more specific.  To help with that they were willing to tear out some of the existing sheet rock and things like that on an affordable price.   After they did that they came in and installed the centre system into the water proofing and at the same time they installed a raising system against the wall.  Those are the three things they did for us.  They did a great job. They in the process of finishing the job had to kind of make some recommendation and kind of incorporate a system with the home owners to themselves after ascertaining the kind of things we needed to do. The quote that they gave us was pretty much right on.  They were able to take stoke of the job, knew what was required and how to accomplish it. They were pretty much on.  Price wise they were very competitive and were able to do little bit cheaper than some of the others. Quality wise everybody who came to inspect as we had sitting inspectors and the other contractors who came in here for the other job also took a look at what we had there and commented the real good job they did. They were very responsive.  They always answered their cell phones, as a matter of fact I was less responsive to them than they were to me as there were times I could not answer the phone or whatever. As for punctuality they were very good at setting up the times to be here and they showed up at those times, and were able to finish all the work that they were sorted out for the day. As for professionalism everybody we worked with were very honest, very straight forward.  The things that they said were the things that they did.  I think that was excellent. Hope we would not need to use them in the future because the repair they did should be sufficient. I would recommend them to anybody.  "

"Service guy came as scheduled. Sent his "service" requirements to home base Home base calls back and lists, a very long list of what needs to be done and a very long list of what is not covered and what each item costs. The overall cost was outrageous and they weren't willing to give it to me in writing. Everything I had to pay for was overpriced, of course! They told me my other option would be to purchase my own water heater and they would reimburse me for what there water heater would cost, but no reimbursement for Labor, building permit, or any upgrades required by the local building department. The requirements of the building department were minimal. I went to Home Depot and had them do the installation and saved many hundreds of dollars. Lesson learned, have AHS do simpler repairs that don't require municipal building department approval. Have AHS pay for the equipment, and purchase installation from a trusted local installer."
