"Project was a long one. Gutted just about 1/3 of the house, top to bottom. Removed a wall to create more open space for a off kitchen dinning area. Removed all ceiling and wall drywall along with the old cellulose insulation in ceiling area. Ed found a problem with the ceiling rafters/joist that was not properly supported so they had to cut in, add joist hangers and put in a pair of new stringers for the support. Ed and Tom put in new insulation in the walls and ceiling. Re-worked the electrical with new lines, boxes, outlets and also ran 4 new lines from the breaker box. They added some additional boxes for ceiling lights and for a garbage disposal. Removed all the old interior door and replaced with solid oak doors. Tom did a fine job at finishing the doors, 9 doors total. All new door trim and base board added, again they was finished by Tom. All new drywall put in, 40, 12ft. sheets. All new Armstrong Alterna floor tile was put down on top of new laminate floor sheeting. Tile was adhesive glued, butt jointed with no grouting in diamond pattern. Walls and ceilings was painted. New kitchen cabinets installed on feet with no toe kick. Ed reworked some of the plumbing to accommodate a new built in dishwasher. Installed new 36inch Range hood for the new Thor gas range/oven. Ed also replace old bathroom fan and that was a big improvement. Ed also made a new pantry area with a frosted glass pantry door installed. Ed reframed a wall to accept a 36 inch frig and recessed it so it would be flush mounted with the kitchen cabinets. Ed and Tom also in one day built a new front patio deck with new railing. Removal of the old cement stoop was hard and a electric jack hammer was rented to finish with. Ed skirted the new deck with the same vinyl siding that they installed last year on the house. Very nice curb appeal now. As I said before this was a big job, and the work shows excellent results. I would like to also say thank you to the following vendors.. Dianna at Famous Supply@Newark for the design and cabinets. Granville lumber for the nice wood and railing for the deck. Cambria countertops for the beautiful countertop in the Lancaster design."

"We picked the right people to design and build our new four-season room. We wanted to save an upstairs window but didn't want a shed roof design. Others said they could not save the window with the design we wanted. Ohio Exteriors LLC. said they could custom design and build the roof to save our window. Our plan was to build the addition as if it as part of the original house. Ohio Exteriors LLC. did a good job in meeting our goal. Renee kept the project moving with very little down time. Todd kept a tight handle on keeping the materials and subcontractors coming in a timely matter. Derrick was the project foremen and was on the job nearly every day. He was definitely the kind of person you would want to lead a project like ours. He seemed to be able to do just about anything. He was very approachable and would stop anything he was doing to answer our questions about our project. Everyone including subcontractors did a professional job and cleaned up every night. We also liked the fact that all onsite material was covered as soon as it arrived in case of rain. Well done Ohio Exteriors Ohio Exteriors Ohio Exteriors"

"We told them our needs and they made serveral suggestions, things I did not think of and their ideas worked out great. They have a good eye for what makes the decor look best. They were very concerned with making sure they did not disrupt our activities and they were very concerned with not letting drywall dust and other building remains dirty up the rest of the house. They worked every day, weather permitting and finished the job in the time estimated. Everything is very nicely done, the trim looks great on the windows, the floor looks great. It is a good size room and I found the price to be very good compared with others. And changes I added in were acted upon. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the finished product

"We worked with Daniel at Sembro to design our kitchen remodel. He was extremely helpful, flexible and budget conscious during the planning phase. Two days after demo, our kids got sent home from school and everyone was in quarantine. Needless to say this was a stressful time! Luckily, Sembro was able to continue on with the work. They do not use subcontractors and their workers are fantastic. They are all courteous, hardworking and timely. I felt like all of them cared about the project and the details being right. Another company wanted close to 100k to do what Sembro did for less and I don’t think quality was sacrificed the least. They removed a wall into our dining room and extended the kitchen making it much bigger. We added hardwood in the living and family rooms and refinished the existing hardwood. We kept the sink where it was but pretty much everything else was gutted. Because of The pandemic there were a few delays but that was not Sembros fault. Honestly, we absolutely love our kitchen and so does everyone else who sees it. We will definitely use Daniel and his team in the future to remodel our bathrooms. Great company to work with-even during a pandemic!"

"There's a reason Mose is my go-to guy for this type of work. The build-in he completed for my media room looks fantastic, is highly functional and totally elevates the room. Mose and his teammate Reuben are seasoned pros, so it's no surprise that they completed the project on time and within budget. I'll be back for more."

"Tim did a superb job of tearing out the old, putting in the new and repairing the active wet spots in the kitchen ceiling. I feel that his estimates were fair and reasonable and the craftsmanship was a world of difference from the previous subpar job I had done. He is very timely, works consistently and stays on schedule. I can't say enough how happy I am with his end result on this project! I'll be having him back to do another bathroom soon!"

"Parks Davis, Sr. was very nice and professional. He answered all our questions at the original visit and subsequently on the phone. We didn't hire his company as the proposed structure was more elaborate and expensive than we had anticipated."

"Civitello Construction provided top notch service from sales to design to construction and completion on basically a gutting and remodeling project for a recently purchased condo. I am very satisfied with all of the work and personal service provided. Josh was great to work with in the design phase and I really felt a great collaborative effort to stay on budget and achieve the look and finishes that I wanted. Paul kept everyone on schedule and made sure everything was done just right."

FAQs for addition to existing structure building service projects in New Albany, OH

You can typically raise your roof by four to eight feet, depending on your home's structure and roof design. The exact amount depends on factors like roof slope and framing support. Raising the roof creates additional interior space, enhances natural light, and increases your home's value. Consult a professional to determine the feasible height increase for your home.

Yes, you need a building permit to raise your roof. Obtaining a building permit ensures your project complies with local building codes and safety regulations. A professional contractor can assist with the permit and inspection process and ensure all legal and safety requirements are met. Your contractor will be familiar with building codes in your area, which can differ between cities or states.

While it's possible to raise a flat roof, it requires extensive structural modifications. Flat roofs lack the attic space and support structures of pitched roofs, so raising them involves significant engineering to ensure safety and durability. This process can be complex and costly, so professional assessment is essential before undertaking a project of this magnitude.
