"It was a clean and great service. I had Mr Rodriguez redesign the front of my house with a small fountain which he installed perfectly and rearranged my rocks, removed the bad weeds, replant and plant new plants. He also put mulch. And lastly he put my night lights. Very good and beautiful work. I highly recommend him. Thank you once again."

"These guys are great! Couldnâ t be happier with their work. I had them come out to do a late fall yard clean up including leaf removal, final mow, and edging. It made such a difference. They were very easy to work with. Highly recommend!"

"The job went perfect.  This was the first year we used Lodder Landscaping.  We needed to find another landscape company after the company we used shut down for retirement.  We were very pleased with all aspects of the job.  They were able to fit us in by end of April as we requested.  The work was done quickly and was done very well.  <br /> We had them back in late summer to remove some older trees and bushes which were getting too big and/or dying off.  We had a few landscape companies bid on the work and make their recommendations on bushes to be used for replacement.  We found John's recommendations to be the best and most creative.  Once again, we were very happy with the job scheduling and the work. <br />"

"Norman was prompt to come out after I requested an estimate to be done for some yard grading and gravel install. His price was fair, communicated with me well on the job timeline, and was able to complete the job in a few days (first spraying the area to kill the weeds, etc. and then doing the grading + gravel install). All and all, I was a very happy to have chosen Pitzer Landscaping to complete the job!"

"Jeff was responsive & reliable. The quality of his work was better than anyone else I have used in the past. The job was clean & neat with no sealant on the grass, driveway, sidewalk or garage floor. They swept the driveway & trimmed the grass along the edges before beginning. He put a good thick coat of sealant on the driveway. I will definitely hire Jeff & Proseal when it is time to reseal my driveway again."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in New Albany, OH

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
