"It was a clean and great service. I had Mr Rodriguez redesign the front of my house with a small fountain which he installed perfectly and rearranged my rocks, removed the bad weeds, replant and plant new plants. He also put mulch. And lastly he put my night lights. Very good and beautiful work. I highly recommend him. Thank you once again."

"These guys are great! Couldnâ t be happier with their work. I had them come out to do a late fall yard clean up including leaf removal, final mow, and edging. It made such a difference. They were very easy to work with. Highly recommend!"

"Last fall we contacted Curt's Brick and Stone and dealt w/Jake who was very knowledgable and made suggestions about our project that we had not thought of. Ultimately we decided that the timing was not right for this project. We then contacted Jake again in July of this year and proceeded w/ our original plans. The price remained basically the same from the 1st quote to the 2nd quote which was a pleasant suprise. Another Jake and Justin came out to install our paver patio and we could not be better pleased with these young men very polite and hardworking individuals. As time went on we came to the conclusion that these guys could very well have been building a patio for their parents or themselves, as they were that meticulous in everything that they did . They finished the project in 3 days and Caleb came out the next day to install a hand rail on the steps. Again excellent service. Curt's Brick and Stone has four excellent representatives for the company in these gentlemen, Jake, Jake, Justin and Caleb ! ! ! ! In the future if we decide to have another project done we will only call Curt's Brick and Stone. We could not be more pleased with how they handled everything from start to finish! ! ! !"

"My parents purchased a home in the area and wanted to update the landscaping and hardscape. I contacted Lodder Landscaping in the early spring after reading other reviews on Angie's List.  <br /> John Lodder was prompt in returning my call and met with me at my parent's house to discuss the scope of the project and some options. His wife, Anne, followed up shortly thereafter with a written proposal and estimate for the project. Once my parents accepted the proposal, John came out again and walked thru the property with me and explained his design plan. For the most part, my parents deferred to John's recommendations as far as plantings, layout and the design of the patio were concerned. <br /> The scope of the project was very large, and John worked (tirelessly) for approximately two months to complete all aspects of the project which included removing and replacing existing, overgrown shrubs and plants, edging around all beds, removing old hardscape patio and replacing with new pavers. He even repaired a sod installation job that another landscaping firm had done poorly. <br /> The finished product exceeded everyone's expectations. <br /> John and Anne are very nice people and easy to work with. They were kind to my parents and honest in their dealings. We would not hesitate to recommend their company to others interested in quality landscaping work. In fact, we already have. <br />"

"Jeff was responsive & reliable. The quality of his work was better than anyone else I have used in the past. The job was clean & neat with no sealant on the grass, driveway, sidewalk or garage floor. They swept the driveway & trimmed the grass along the edges before beginning. He put a good thick coat of sealant on the driveway. I will definitely hire Jeff & Proseal when it is time to reseal my driveway again."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in New Albany, OH

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
