"Before purchasing our home which has a pier and beam foundation, we had National Foundation come out and do an inspection. The kitchen area and part of the hallway and master bedroom had a noticeable dip in the wooden floor but we loved the home and location, so we called the experts at National Foundation during our inspection process to assess the problem and let us know how much of an issue it is and what the approximate cost would be before we decided to go through with the sale. <br /> Robert, the estimator, came out the very next day and gave the house a very thorough inspection. The sellers had previously had another foundation company come out and provide an estimate of $3800, which was written very vaguely on what needed to be done and left open-ended, with the fine print stating that it could be more once the crew gets there and starts working. Robert took his time and explained exactly what needed to be done. I was not only happy to hear that the problem wasn't serious and very fixable, but National was also going to charge less than half of the previous estimate to fix it, along with a few other problems that they've found that wasn't mentioned by the other foundation company. <br /> I've talked to many people, including a very good friend who is a local geologist, and everyone told me the same thing - if you need foundation repair work - call National Foundation. And they were right. Everyone I dealt with were very honest, friendly and helpful. Steve and his assistant showed up this morning promptly as scheduled and immediately went to work repairing the problems. Along the way, he told me what was happening and what they were doing to correct each problem and what to watch out for in the future. Even though the job required more piers than what was originally estimated and described on the contract, I was still charged the quoted price. <br /> If you need any type of foundation repair, whether it's concrete slab or pier and beam, go with National Foundation. Don't even bother wasting time talking to anyone else. Just keep in mind that they are extremely busy and it may take a little while for them to schedule you in, but they are well worth the wait. I'm extremely pleased with their work. <br />"

FAQs for concrete injection leveling mudjacking projects in New Iberia, LA

Mudjacking and foam jacking differ significantly in both materials and methods. Mudjacking uses a cement-based slurry to fill voids beneath a slab, while foam jacking uses expanding polyurethane foam delivered under high pressure to achieve superior structural support. This material distinction enhances load-bearing strength and overall stability in your repair.

Mudjacking takes between one and three days to dry completely. During this time, it's important to avoid putting weight on the slab until it's fully cured. The drying time depends on the project size and environmental conditions. In contrast, polyurethane foam used in foam jacking can cure in as little as one hour.

No, mudjacking is not a permanent fix for sinking concrete. While it effectively lifts the slab and can last five to 10 years, it doesn't address underlying soil issues that may cause future sinking. For a more permanent solution, you might consider foam jacking or complete slab replacement, which can address deeper structural problems.
