"I first had another service company from Charlotte that I contacted. We can be there at 4 today. Great. No show others issues. Tuesday 2-4 great shows at 3:30. All I needed was pump station pumped out and replace effulent pump no digging needed. Pumped one side said would have to dig up other side , bring in equipment , septic line may need camera etc etc could be up to $5000 could be here at 9 the next day. Get call that night that I need to pay at least half of money before they could proceed. Told them not our deal, their guy wasn't sure. Never showed by 10;30, called them and told them to forget it. Another local company argued with me as to what I had, lived her 20 years, told him I would send pictures, never responded. Got on home advisers and had 3 contacts. first called right away. Told the issues, they would need to come look but that would be $150 cost but if they got the job would knock it off the price. Told them I would send pictures, nope need to pay first then come LOOK. NOPE. Then Mark from Clearwater Septic and Pumping called, told him the issues, told me he would be there the next morning between 11-12. He texted when he was on his way. arrived , pouring down rain, showed him the pump tank, we discussed prices, wanted to pump out, pull old pump and make sure we got the right size, gave me their price to replace pump and away we went, all in the pouring down rain. Told him we didn't have to finish today, maybe next day would be ok, no back ups or any issues, could wait. He said I told you we would get it done today and we will. they pumped both sides, pulled pump, went and got the new pump. installed the new pump, all in the pouring rain, never complained, knew what needed to be done and he did it. very professional and NEVER spilled a drop of waste on the driveway or yard like the first company from Charlotte did that I sent away. finished at 5;30, soaked ,cleaned up everything. This company came, gave me fair prices, did what I asked to have done and didn't try to hit me for any other charges or unnecessary work. VERY HAPPY with the end result. "Queen City Plumbing was one of three quotes obtained for this repair and by far the most comprehensive and reasonable. They came out on a Saturday to provide a quote and scheduling the work was effortless. The technicians arrived prompted on the day of service and I did not have to remain at home for the work to be completed. When they finished, I was emailed pictures of each phase of their work and my lawn was repaired from their digging. Will hire again for any other plumbing work needed in my home."

"The sales rep was very personable and seemed to have knowledge of drainage problems and solutions. The workers arrived on schedule and worked very hard to accomplish the task at hand. They routed the drainage to an open ditch parallel to the property. They also rerouted drainage for an existing, inefficient french drain and sump that was pumping water across the driveway that was washing the soil out from under the concrete and creating an unsightly stain. To this point, we felt that all was going well. The problem that arose was that the French drain they installed was still higher than the foundation of the house. They filled in the trench with gravel to facilitate drainage, but covered the gravel with the soil they removed, which is mostly clay. Consequently, the water still runs off across the top of the French drain and overwhelms the foundation. Moisture in the crawl space has not been significantly reduced. I talked to the rep about redoing the crawl space which had mold forming on the floor joists. He gave me a quote that included sealing all the vents, cleaning the mold, adjusting pitch of the interior perimeter French drain, relocating the crawl sump and pump to a better collection point, putting down new vapor barrier and installing a crawl space dehumidifier, ($1,500.00) at a total cost of $4,290.00. If we wanted mold remediation treatment in addition to just cleaning the mold, the cost was an additional $1,950.00. The rep also agreed to send a team back out to remove the top layer of soil from the French drain and fill the trench with gravel, build up the soil at the foundation, making the new French drain at a level lower than the foundation to contain the water, at no additional charge. Subsequent to all that, we discovered some major structural damage that was going to be costly. Alignment of priorities and available finances dictated that the crawl space would have to be put on hold, at least temporarily. I sent an email to the Moisture Loc rep explaining our dilemma, but reiterated that I still expected him to live up to his promise to fix the French drain deficiencies, for which I already paid handsomely. In spite of email, text messages and voice mail to the rep, I have never received the courtesy of a response. I can only conclude that since we had to suspend the crawl space work, there is no intention to make the necessary changes/repairs to the original work as promised.

"The service was satisfactory. When they came to do the inspection we already knew we had other issues in the basement. They provided a proposal to address the other issue. We had water penetration in the basement so installed a French drain, moisture barrier and sub pump. There were a few issues during the course of the project. They estimated it would take 4-5 days to complete. The technicians were professional and did a nice job. However, by the 5th day they were not sure they would be able to finish within the quoted time frame. I contacted the supervisor and let him know I was not happy with what I was hear. The next day they put more man power on the job and were still unable to complete the job. They had to come back another half day the following week to complete the service. The project management was lacking. There was some damage to the back yard and some of the grass was killed from the moisture barrier plastic they laid out, as well. The crew took a photograph of the damage to take back to the supervisor. The supervisor had the crew go buy grass seed to repair the damage. We were actually trying to sell the home at this time and this caused distressed for when we showed out home. I suggested compensation for the damage to the yard. I suggested $500 off the bill. He tried compromising at $300 if I paid the bill the same day. I was put off by this and then he backed off and went to his supervisor. They ended up taking the $500 off the bill and I did pay the same day."

"Tim was on time for our meeting and on the spot provided useful suggestions for what absolutely should be done (sump pump and basin replacement), what would be good to do (seal crawlspace vents and install liner and dehumidifier, and what didn't really need to be done (mold remediation and replacement of floor joist insulation).  He was cordial, willing to accommodate my needs and came with samples of the liners he uses for crawlspaces.
We met on a Monday and I didn't get his estimate until Saturday while competitors gave a quote within a day or two of meeting.  The estimate included removing my old insulation and replacing it with new insulation and scrubbing off the mold, which he'd previously said wasn't needed.  It also included replacing my broken but cosmetically fine crawlspace vents and then sealing them shut.  I ended up having a company just seal the existing vents shut with foam board insulation which made a whole lot more sense to me.  The estimate was very brief and did not explain what was included in his sealed crawlspace system (it varies from company to company) and he provided no supporting materials while competitors gave very detailed contracts and in some cases booklets explaining their sealed crawlspace systems.  One thing that was clear is that required electrical and HVAC work was the responsibility of the customer; some competitors offer a turnkey solution so their customer doesn't have to act as their own general contractor.  No explicit warranty was offered while a couple of competitors offered various degrees of warranty on liner durabilty and/or moisture control.  It's difficult for me to compare AccuDry's price to the competition due to several items in AccuDry's quote that were not recommended by any competitors and the lack of clarity on what is included in the AccuDry sealed crawlspace.
I feel like I could have found a way to work with Tim on my crawlspace but it would have required a good deal more effort on my part just to figure out the costs involved for what really needed to be done while the company I went with had made it all very clear to me with a day or two and offered a very good price.
