"This review is long overdue; but, after expressing numerous times to individuals the great work that Al Sanchez Construction did in repairing my home’s foundation, I finally decided to put it in writing. I have a 70 year-old home that was having recurring foundation issues and was, literally, “lopsided” in various areas. Back in February of 2012, I tried to get my house “leveled” by another company; instead, I ended up losing $11, 520 dollars to extremely substandard work. Now, fast forward to January 2018. Using Angie’s List as a resource, I contacted Al Sanchez Construction to repair and level my home’s foundation and was immediately impressed by their professionalism and honesty. The work that my home’s foundation ultimately needed was very extensive, physically challenging, and time consuming; but the extremely hardworking crew of Al Sanchez Construction knew exactly what to do! And at the end of each day, the crew always took great care in leaving the work area clean and orderly. I now have - thanks to Al Sanchez Construction - a leveled 70 year-old home with a strong, solid foundation!!! Finally!!! Thank goodness!!! "Castillo Construction was quick to respond with an estimate, it took a bit longer to get the contract worked out.  We had wanted to start the project immediately, but our timing was bad so it took a few months to get the project going - especially with the weather delays to getting the foundation going (rain delays).  Once the foundation and initial plumbing passed inspection, the framing rough-ins went very quickly - after that it felt like it slowed down.  I will say that there was someone working on our property nearly every day. At the end, the  quality of the construction was good.  We felt the project and communication could have been a bit smoother - we thought that project delays could have been communicated more proactively.  However, Castillo completed the project and they have been responsive to any punch list items that came up afterward.   Overall, I would recommend them - the completed project is very nice.  There are always areas to improve, so we included a list of what went well and would could be improved.   None of the comments below would prevent me from recommending them to anyone else or from contracting with them again!

Some of the work arounds/issues that came up during the renovation were decided by the crew onsite and resulted in re-work when reviewed later

"Called Jim for this job because he had done prior work for me,and he impressed me with his excellent  skills and helpful attitude.
At the time he was working in New Orleans,and although he doesn't  service the Ponchatoula area, he agreed to go out of his way and stop by my house on his way home that evening. He lives in Mandeville more than 10 miles away. He checked out the shower and traveled 10 miles  to the nearest Home Depot for a part, found that they didn't carry it. He then told me he would get the part from another source and returned the next day, repaired the shower and once again left a very satisfied customer. I hope that if I need plumbing work in the future he will agree to come. He is knowledgeable, highly skilled and most of all a kind and caring professional. I highly recommend him to any one needing his expertise.
