"After an extensive process of having different contractors evaluate my home & submit their estimates for the installation of a Bosch tankless boiler/water heater combination unit as well as new baseboard heating, I selected AStar Heating & Cooling. Their staff impressed me from start to finish. Initially, I met Aaron who provided a thorough explanation of how the work would be done, offered other options that I did not know of or considered at the time, and provided a fair estimate that was similar to most of the other contractors. Next, when the time came for the projects to be completed, the technicians, Robert & Trevor, were on point. They always arrived in a timely manner & started working right away. They worked efficiently & quickly to get the projects done in the time frame promised. However, they did not rush, they took pride in their work & made every effort to make sure the work was completed neatly & done properly, as they thoroughly tested out the systems to make sure their were no issues/problems in their setup & performance. They also thoroughly answered my questions about the installation of the new systems as they went about their work. At the end of each workday, they made sure to clean up the job site & were very mindful in not dirtying my new floors by wearing plastic booties whenever they had to walk over them. "Although the work was completed, the repairs were not completed without errors. The PVC piping to the shower drain was not properly aligned when gluing it together, resulting in a leak. The technician pulled the PVC piping apart and re-glued the piping. This did not leave me with a great deal of confidence in the repair and feel I must keep checking to make sure the leak does not return. Also the repair looks bad, as there is glue and dissolved PVC on the outside of the piping. In my opinion, the technician should have replaced it with fresh piping. The toilet tank rebuild was performed with an adjustable fill valve. The technician failed to lock the fill valve at the proper length for my toilet tank. I went to check the repair and when I took the top off the toilet tank the fill valve popped up. The fill valve popped up so high that you could not put the top back on the toilet tank and the fill valve did not turn off and water ran continuously. Fortunately, the technician was still there and lock the fill valve down at the proper level. I rated the price as average, as I did not get competitive prices to determine if the charges were reasonable."
