"I live in a house that is over 100 years old with a stone foundation that also forms the basement walls. The old mortar between the stones had deteriorated over the years to the point that water would seep in in multiple places along the perimeter of the basement wall. This seepage basically occurred after every rain, and I always needed to move objects stored in the basement away from the perimeter for fear that they would be water damaged. I actually wasn’t very confident that the seepage problem could be fixed, but I finally decided to contact several basement contractors to determine if there was anyway to waterproof the basement. I ultimately decided to hire Basement Gurus because Mike (initial company contact) sold me on the idea and that their workers were the best in the business. Well, it’s been seven weeks since the basement work was completed, and even though we’ve had a couple of nor’easters with heavy rain blow through the area, the basement has been bone dry; the basement work has been a resounding success! "Excellent wish all my contractors came out this good.  showed up for the estimate on time and had a video that showed the steps to fix the basement.  measured  the basement and made up contract.  when I mentioned angies list and deals offered we built it right into contract without printing coupons and stuff. were quick with availability came out the following week.  foreman (Dan) was on time and double checked everything before starting .Wanted to move sump pump and outside drain to a less used area. not a PROBLEM. Was loud and cold in the house all day as if you run the furnace while they work it comes through the vents.  laid out carpet protectors and were done in only 1 day (the estimator planned 2)  Jackhammered the floor out and dug down to foundation laid new drains and installed new sump pump. they brought 5 people and they all worked hard constantly for the day.  lost track of all the buckets after 30 (5 gal. buckets).removed with old crap.  Explained all the warranties and paperwork with new sump pump.  Have to wait for the concrete to dry. it's now 3 days later and I'm ready to put the basement back together.  Looks great and can't wait to use the basement without wet and damp floors and walls furnace)  did forget to put screen back in basement window but if you have leaky walls and damp floors this is nice.  any problems after the next big rain I'll let ya's know.
