"Start to finish, my experience with iPave was terrific. I reached out to a handful of paving contractors on Angi's to have my roughly 3,000 sq/ft driveway paved. Henry at iPave was one of the first contractors to contact me. He turned around a quote faster than anyone AND had a great price. During the estimating process Henry was a pleasure to deal with. He returns calls promptly & his genuine, relaxed personality makes him very easy to communicate with. We were able to schedule installation surprisingly quickly. From first contact to installed driveway took just over 2 weeks. Which is fantastic. Henry said he & the rest of the crew would be on the job at 8am & he meant it. They were unloaded & breaking ground at 7:58am. It may not seem like much, but when a contractor shows up EXACTLY when they say they will, it's a great feeling. All of the equipment looked very new & well cared for, which is always a good sign. The crew had a great vibe & seemed eager to get to work. Henry operated the skid steer, which was great to see. When the estimator is also hands-on during installation, there's no chance of miscommunication. The crew was finished & cleaned up by 2:30pm. That's 6.5 hours for a fairly large driveway, start to finish. Very efficient. The finished product completely blew my expectations out of the water. Our home is 140 years old and never had a finished driveway. My wife and I are thrilled with the new curb appeal. The workmanship & attention to detail are superb. I would absolutely recommend iPave to anyone looking for asphalt services. In fact, I've already referred a coworker. Call them, you won't be disappointed. I'll never call anyone else."

"First and foremost Eduardo Landscape Services are honest and hard working. This job was perfect. It was a big job which included excavating the front yard, installing a new parking area, rebuilding an old paved driveway, building a large natural stone retaining wall, all new underground drainage, removing ledge and a new 14 X 30 patio. Eduardos crew was so impressive I took videos of them working. Ive been affiliated with different construction companies my entire life and this company rates with the best of them."

Small jobs welcome

"Diego told me last November he would be here at the beginning of this season and he kept his word. He designed a walkway and veneer for the front of my house that I could not have imagined. The landscaping ideas and suggestions were right on target. His team is respectful and hard working and I recommend them highly. The job exceeded my expectations!"

"What a great experience and final product. Eddie and Simon were relentless in finding the perfect stones for the new retaining wall and front steps. Installation was done beautifully and with a masterful eye. They also installed the new railing on the steps, which came out beautifully, too. All of our neighbors have dropped by and commented on how incredible everything looks (and how jealous they are). I can't say enough about their professionalism, craftsmanship, and drive to please their clients. Plus, they're really nice guys!"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Norfolk, MA

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
