"I saw a sign in a driveway of a colleague and my wife and I were very impressed with the work.   I called back in June of 2015 and worked with Michael from Worden and Sons Paving and he gave me the quote, however we made a decision to not go with it due to a financial emergency that did not allow us to invest in the work.   March of 2016 I was looking through e-mails and found the quote and when I called about if they would honor the quote from 9 months earlier he said absolutely!!  Not only did he honor the quote he scheduled and within 2 weeks of inquiring we had our BEAUTIFUL new DRIVEWAY in place.   What I love the most is this is a family business and Michael was very proud of the fact that the people who are working with him worked with his grandfather.   Loyalty, Responsiveness, Quality and Efficient Work.    I feel we received the full value from the work provided. <br />"

"Excellent work! At least 1/3 of my roof on the north side had a great deal of moss on it. On much of the rest of the roof there were small amounts of moss along the bottom edge of shingles, and there were patches in scattered places on the main part of the shingles. After Hector and his son cleaned the roof, it looked brand new. They removed plants and furniture from our deck before the job and replaced them after the job. They even did a light washing of the vinyl siding of the house, which was outside the agreed-upon scope of work, but they did not charge me for it. As a former member of a site safety office in a then-Fortune 50 company, I was particularly impressed with the excellent precautions they took to insure their safety on the roof during the job. Hector’s 27+ years of experience was evident in every aspect of the job. I plan to bring him back in a year for annual maintenance. I definitely recommend No More Dirty Roofs to any home owner needing roof cleaning."

"Brandon and his team spent almost 2 full days making my 24 year old driveway look new. They cleaned it and repaired it and i cant believe how wonderful it looks. Brandon explained everything about the job, crew was prompt, left NO signs of being here afterwards. Angel in his office was also great with info and keeping in touch. Several people thought it was a completely new driveway!~.. Every time I mentioned Brandon and Co., all I heard were glowing reports and he certainly lives up to his reputation. I have nothing but positive things to say about this company! Thanks"

"They completely dug out where they were going to lay the asphalt. The crew was here on time and they didn't leave a mess when they were finished. We had them come out another time and they did our complete driveway, which was pretty good sized. They did an excellent job on that also. The men were good to work with and the price was reasonable."

"We wanted to extend and replace our existing concrete driveway. Originally, after signing the contract, the job was scheduled for the week of July 2nd. We were contacted and informed that the job would need to be rescheduled for July 10th. Due to poor weather conditions, the job was rescheduled again for August 3rd. Then, we were informed that they could not do the job on August 3rd because it had rained so much the company was behind on their contractual obligations. On the evening of August 5th, we received a call that they were going to begin the job the next morning. The job took 2 days to complete. The crew was punctual and performed their work proficiently. The old concrete was removed and the area cleaned up before the guys left on the 2nd day. I enjoyed dealing with Eyvette, the assistant to the owner. She was professional and friendly and always responded to my questions. We also had to replace the old brick step that lead one step down from the porch to the driveway. For the step, Bill, the estimator, put us in touch with Sunil, who does brickwork. Sunil works weekends for McGhee. He came out this past Sunday morning, it took all day to install, and the new step looks great."

"I've requested QA Development to install granite countertop and cabinets. They've done work at my investment properties in the past so I request their services again because of their fair prices. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> I will highly recommend QA Development."

"Carl (owner) was very punctual with his estimate and start time and date. He drew up an appropriate contract and started on time. He was very professional and our overall experience was outstanding. Even when we wanted to change something after he had already installed our shower, he complied with no problem. He even did extra things that weren't in the contract (installing insulation and an exhaust fan) and didn't charge extra for them. We had a leak after he was done, which was our fault, he came and fixed it without question or charging us. Great, great experience and we will be using The Kings Men in the future and recommending them to everyone we know."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Norfolk, VA

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
