"Michael Ridgeway was wonderful to work with because he listened to how I wanted the gate to be finished so it would be structurally strong. I would hire him again without any question. Michaels helper that worked along with him worked very hard. I really appreciate their work ethics. Thank you so much Michael and Tommy! Sherie"

"Fantastic! Purchased the $79 Deal to cover the shower head and toilet repair. When Thomas called to schedule the appointment he asked more about the toilet (installed 1991) and politely suggested a replacement would be better. He also had a special deal to get a well rated new toilet from the local Big Hardware store that was normally $150 but was on sale for only $99. Great! <br /> On the day of the service Thomas and his assistant were right on time. They are both extremely professional and friendly and the work was done very well. He showed me all the facets of the completed work and tested the hardware in my presence. Thomas is a very engaging person and we had a pleasant conversation while he processed the paperwork. As I was also having a small issue with my dishwasher, I asked just for his opinion. He said he really shied away from d-washer repairs barbecue of past problems with other customers , but he was happy to inspect the unit finding the upper spray arm was loose and the O ring was missing. Without hesitation he went to his truck and got some rings, putting one on and giving me two spares. Now that my friends is truly great customer service!! <br /> I found Thomas and Drain Masters both to be honest, professional and helpful. If I ever have a bigger job, like re-piping or sewer line repair I would call them in a heartbeat! <br />"

"We contacted Angi’s on a Saturday morning for help with a failed water heater, and Nuflow Plumping responded within 5 minutes of placing the request. They told us about their US-made water heaters, promised to arrive as soon as possible, and kept us informed at every step in the process. They rushed to the warehouse to procure the water heater before it closed so they could complete our job that morning. Services included: * turn off the power to water heater * disconnect old unit * haul away * install a disconnect Box for power * installed the wiring properly (it was done wrong) * set up the safety straps * installed two new supply connectors hot and cold * turned on the unit to ensure proper functioning * one year labor warranty and six years manufacturer warranty from Bradford white directly Both Art and his brother Arman (who set up the service) were personable, courteous, and intelligent, and a joy to work with. We wouldn’t hesitate to call them again! Excellent, prompt service!"

"I hired John with JRW Plumbing to re-pipe my house and install a tankless water heater. John was very knowledgeable, professional, and patient in answering all of my questions. His prices are honest and extremely reasonable. He and his crew showed up on-time each day and cleaned up at the end of each day and were very communicative throughout the entire process and gave me timely progress updates. John takes pride in his work and made sure I was happy with the work each step of the way. When he was patching the walls at the end of the job he even patched a hole left by a different contractor. I had a great experience and highly recommend JRW Plumbing for all of your plumbing needs!!"

"We had a great experience with All Phase Plumbing Inc. We had previously used them to find and repair a leaking water pipe between the water meter and our house. Based on this previous successful experience, we decided to get a quote for them to install a new kitchen sink. Brandon, from All Phase Plumbing, reviewed the job, thoroughly explained our options, and gave us a reasonable quote for the work. Based on his recommendations, we ordered the sink and associated parts. The new sink was to be installed in a tile countertop. Brandon, and his helper Eric, cut out the old undermount sink without incident, installed the new drop-in sink, faucet, garbage disposal, drains, and air gap. We also added the installation of two new toilets to the job. They were both very pleasant, neat and clean, and did a great job. An added bonus with All Phase Plumbing is dealing with the very pleasant Ami at their office."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in North Highlands, CA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
