"Very punctual, installers were great.  Can't see any seams!  The carpet is beautiful!  Criticisms: 1.  The salesperson never followed up with my quote and I had to call to find out the status; 2.  They measured incorrectly when they came to do the estimate so the installers didn't have enough carpet to do the job when they originally came.  They had to order more carpet and then come out a second time to finish the job.  3. They forgot to call me to tell me the additional carpet was in and to schedule the install. <br />"

"I called Jack Plunkett, owner of the Carpet Doctor, after our AC unit leaked into our dining room. So glad we found him on Angie's List.! Jack was very responsive and came out to our home in Plantation the next day after our call to give us an estimate (no obligation!) for new padding, relaying our carpet and giving it a good cleaning. Jack arrived on time, and his estimate was very reasonable for all the work we needed done. By the end of that afternoon, the work was completed. It looks wonderful -- like the flood never happened -- and Jack was a great person to work with. I'm looking forward to hiring Jack at the Carpet Doctor to come out annually and clean our carpets and he will be the first one we call if we have another flood. I highly recommend the Carpet Doctor in Ft Lauderdale."

"Our initial contact was with Vicky at their store location.  She assisted with tile selection and alternatives for our backsplash.  We wanted a clean under-stated design that would work well with our granite counter and stainless appliances.  She helped us pick out a textured porcelain tile and a stacked rectangular stainless steel tile for the area behind the stainless gas cooktop. <br /> Michael came to the house and took the final measurements and further helped us in our design and materials selection.  We found Michael to be very knowledgeable with a keen eye for detail.  The materials were ordered and Michael came out with the installers to initially get the job started.  He was able to work out the fine nuances of placement of the stainless tiles and the pencil rail border.  Michael had also ordered a brushed stainless schluter bar to finish the otherwise bare tile edges. <br /> The entire basic installation was completed in a day with a brief several hour grouting session the second day.  The completed project was just what we wanted.  Michael came by the following day to inspect the completed project.  The final result was a porcelain backsplash along a long wall above our sink and counter area (below a picture window) and a porcelain and stainless installation under the cabinets and behind our cooktop. <br /> We give them, Michael and Vicky, high marks for professionalism and knowledge of their product lines.  Their installers, Gus and Javier (Harvey), worked well together and did a great job.  We would highly recommend Allfloors Carpet One for any tile installation. <br />"

"They removed the old carpet and installed the flooring in about 3 hours.  Moved my very heavy dining room table, cleaned up afterward. They did the work on Saturday - that's big for me. The installer spoke English, also a big plus for this area. They aren't the cheapest but I will always pay premium for quality work by a company I trust. I would definitely go back to them for future flooring needs."

"APC Flooring did a fantastic job on our house. They installed around 1000 sq. ft. of new title and baseboards. Great service from start to finish. Oscar and his team went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the results. I will certainly be using them again and recommend APC Flooring to everyone."

"I am tardy (by a few months!) in writing this review....but the message is steadfast. Don Bailey Flooring is fantastic, especially if Karen W. is your point-person. I have had the pleasure of working with Karen on three projects since fall of 2018. In each instance, I gave her the impossible -- I selected a limited availability item and a super tight time-frame for delivery and installation. She hit home-runs each time. I told her that it was so refreshing to finally meet someone who was in the Business of Providing Solutions, not just selling a product. Karen is super high-touch, she would check-in multiple times a day to provide proactive updates, and during installation, she would come herself to ensure quality compliance. Prior to beginning any work, she walked me through what to expect, as well as what my alternatives were that I may or may not have considered on my own. The latter was particularly appealing to me, because it showed that Karen could put my interests first and educate me in what other options were available to me. To add icing to the cake, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Don Bailey, Sr. himself! Wow is he funny (and obviously wicked smart!)!! He even gave me a copy of his biography, which was a great read! In conclusion, it was a pleasure working with Karen, and I would do so again in a heartbeat. Also, I proudly refer Don Bailey Flooring to any of my friends or colleagues that are even thinking about flooring needs."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in North Miami, FL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
