"I’m always skeptical about hiring anyone off the internet. However, Max was able to troubleshoot within minutes and apply a solution that worked. Every other repairman I spoke with said it was ‘this part, which is no longer made’ or ‘this board, which is no longer made’ and did not offer any other solutions. Max knew it was old, but installed newer parts that did the same job. Since I didn’t have to go buy a new fridge, in a pandemic, with serious supply chain problems…He saved me thousands. Thanks Max"

"I hired Yari based on positive Angie's List reviews.  Overall, I'd give him a luke warm rating, and MIGHT use him again, though would probably investigate some other options first.  The work done overall was good, however...

The clean-up was poor.  There was a LOT of small broken tile bits and dust left over after they replaced the kitchen tiles.  I have cats (as they saw), and they could have very easily tracked sharp small bits of broken tile on their paws from the loads of it left on the kitchen floor and in the grooves where the grout is.  When they repaired the broken stucco outside, they left dust and debris at the site and obviously threw the remaining water/plaster/mortar/whatever mix through a fence and into my neighbor's yard (am going to try and attach pix - I think I can do that here).  The price he quoted me was for parts and labor ASSUMING I had all those parts already.  I had to go myself with one of his workers to a nearby plumbing supply store to pick up needed items.

He was very responsive in person and by phone, and very cordial and prompt.  The work was decent enough.  I don't know enough about home repairs and contracting to know how fair the price was, but it seemed to be in the ballpark.

Overall recommendation : Proceed, but with caution, and make sure you're clear from the outset what exactly your needs are and what exactly he's promising to provide.  And make sure they clean up properly before leaving."

"It's insurance for all appliances and also they came her for my stove. I pay them month to month.  I'm happy with them. Price is good. We don't pay, I fix it and they, everything is paid for. I don't have to pay anything. If my refrigerator goes bye bye they will replace it for free. They are very professional. We have had them for year. They also came here for my stove because something when wrong with the door, the oven door. I have a commercial oven and he door just won't shut so something when wrong with it, and they fixed it. I pay them month to month. I'm happy with them. Price is good. We don't pay, I fix it and they, everything is paid for. I don't have to pay anything. I don't have to pay anything. If my refrigerator goes bye bye, they will replace it for free. They are very professional. We have had them for years. We used them at our other house also. I think it was the air conditioner that went out. They replaced it, the whole thing. They were recommended to us by somebody who's been with them for years. And, like thank god because a year later the damn air conditioner went out. So we were able to use it."

"I reached Bill on my first call and described the problem (water pump) and he gave me an phone estimate. It was 30% lower than another bid I received from one of Angie's "A" list appliance repair firms who had charged me $160 to just look at it and make a repair bid. I decided to give that firm the job, but they never returned although the receptionist said the owner would call me back, but for 2 days he never called me back, so I called Moonlighting Appliance Repair. When Bill came and confirmed his price, I gave him 50% deposit so he could order the parts and he in stalled it 4 days later. I would definitely use him again and would recommend him for price and service.

"The cleaning was good. They cleaned the windows - inside and out - and that was really wonderful. Although, they took the covers off the lights in the bathroom and one of the bolts fell down the drain and one of the cleaners left to get the bolt to replace, but they didn't extend the amount of time he left to the cleaning time, so in the end, I feel like they spent about an hour messing with the lights and not getting as much cleaning done. What they did do, they did a good job with and were very nice.

FAQs for appliance (microwave oven) installation and replacement projects in North-palm-springs, CA

A pro can finish the job in one to three hours. Countertop models are the quickest, but built-in, drawer, and over-the-range units take longer because the installer may need to run a new outlet, modify cabinets, or add venting. Any add-ons can push the timeline closer to the three-hour mark. Hiring a licensed installer ensures the wiring is safe and the appliance operates at peak performance.

Because an over-the-range microwave doubles as a range hood, it needs proper venting. You can opt for a recirculating model that filters and recirculates air back into the kitchen, or a ducted unit that exhausts outdoors. Are you unsure which route suits your cooking style? Ask your installer for guidance before making a purchase.

Only microwaves labeled “over-the-range” have the built-in venting and lighting that’s necessary for safe, code-compliant use above a stove. Countertop models don’t have those safeguards. Before you swipe your card, have a licensed microwave installer confirm you’re choosing the right unit for the space and ensure compliance with local codes.

It’s best not to install a countertop microwave in your cabinets. Countertop models aren’t designed for use in an enclosed cabinet, and blocking those vents can trap moisture or even create a fire hazard. A built-in or drawer microwave is designed for tight spaces. Run your plans by an installer to make sure you’re buying the right style for the spot.

You don’t need an electrician if the outlet already meets the microwave’s power needs and sits in the right spot. In that case, you’re good to go ahead with the installation. If the outlet is undersized, outdated, or too far away, hire a licensed electrician to install a new one and ensure everything is code-compliant.

With routine care, most microwaves last between five and 10 years. To help them reach their maximum lifespan, wipe up spills immediately, wash the grease filter periodically, avoid using metal dishware, and close the door gently. Those simple habits reduce malfunctions and keep the appliance running smoothly for the long haul.
