"Tim is friendly and timely.  He talked us through the entire stump grinding process and answered any questions we had.  He arrived on time and had the stumps ground up in no time.  I needed the wood from the stumps cut up a bit more, and he kindly offered to use his chainsaw to make the pieces smaller for transport--and he didn't charge me extra for the service.  We will continue to use Stiles Stump Removal for any needs in the future and will recommend him to everyone we know. <br />"

"Everstone's direct, professional, and customer centric approach was a breathe of fresh air vs. competitors' sales focused model. There was great communication, both in proposal and installation phases. The focus on customer satisfaction was evidenced by the attention to detail and quality. Not to mention that the stone flooring should mitigate any future damage from water infiltration."

"Russ Austin took us through the process from start to finish, even though we had purchased several years ago from another supplier. They treat you as if you were their one and only customer. <br />The installers were very nice and professional. The install is beautiful and is actually a work of art with a near seamless look. <br /> <br />We are currently working with them on a smaller project, but are receiving the top notch service. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Trace has a crew of professionals with professional equipment and skills. You do get what you pay for with these guys. The cost is outlined upfront and all unavoidable adjustments are addressed with the customer as they occur. Our project ran into all kinds of weather delays, yet Trace managed it to the best of his availability. The outcome was at least as expected and promised."

"I hired Ivy League Plantscaping in 2017 for a 2 phase landscaping/hardscaping project and gave them a stellar review (dated 08/27/17). So when time came to do the spring cleanup I turned to them again. At the risk of repeating myself, Geoff and his crew were once again punctual, cordial, hardworking, meticulous, taking pride in using only the best plants, mulch, supplies and cleaning after themselves as they went. This year they removed debris, trimmed bushes, raked dead leaves, pruned plants and spread new high quality much. Moreover, they replaced the few plants (at no cost to me and as they had promised last year) that did not survived our last harsh winter. Without me asking, they also replaced (still at no cost to me) a few plants they felt were not thriving in the location where they had been planted as part of the original project. After consulting with me Geoff suggested adding a few more plants. Just as previously, I gave him and his crew carte blanche to pick plants they thought would work well with the present landscape. Last year they had promised me a lively, colorful landscape with numerous color schemes popping up at different times of the growing season and so far it's working beautifully. After working with 3 other different landscape companies over the last several years, this is the first time I feel like I'm dealing with true experts who take my concerns and wishes very seriously, take pride in their work and want to make sure that I'm totally satisfied. I don't know of any other company who would offer their customers to come water the new plants (so that they can take well to their new environment) while their customer is on vacation. That's exactly what they did for me last year. What more could I ask for? This new landscape makes me happy every time I look at it. I have beautiful, original plants and the rockery's become a focal point in my front yard. I can't wait to see the full effect once all the plants have matured. For all the aforementioned reasons, I highly recommend Geoff and his team and would like to nominate them for another Super Service Award."

"Stopped in their store on a whim to look at purchasing mulch in bulk.  Store clerks were awesome and walked us "first timers" through the process.  Dropped off 6 cubic yards of much the next day, exactly where we asked them to drop it.  Product was great, high quality!  Have been getting many compliments.  Our neighbors also bought from them after our recommendation.   <br />"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in North Ridgeville, OH

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
