"O'Rourke Deck Services recently completed work on our deck and patio. We were very pleased with both the process and the results. They were timely and professional, and communication was good throughout the process. Their work on our deck included replacing a number or boards and rebuilding a section of it, in addition to power washing, sanding, and staining. The finished deck looks great, as does the patio, where they power washed, relaid some of the stones, and applied polymeric sand. The cost of all this work was very reasonable. We'll definitely call on them again as needed."

"I cannot speak for all the concerns provided below, but these guys were great! Mike was consistent with the communication and Jack was very professional and on site daily to see the project through. I received 5 quotes from 5 different companies (including J. Sitko). After reviewing all the estimates, I initially decided to go with another company because they were a little cheaper than J. Sitko. However, after numerous attempts to gain clarity on the final price for the porch I wanted, the winning bid stalled me out. Unknown to J. Sitko, I initially wanted to do the job with them anyway based on how Jack explained the process and how diligent Mike was in providing reassurance as to how the project would go. Needless to say, what is suppose to happen... happened and I am glad I decided to go with them. Being home during the process allowed me to see the craftsmanship and care they put into building my porch. If there are any doubts or concerns with this company/crew, remove it and you will find out for yourself. There was no hassling to do the job or regarding payment. "They did a great job replacing and securing old drywall in our garage. They installed an electrical outlet which works perfectly but his suggestion, to make it easier, was to use BX which is not code in the area. Luckily I knew that because my parents would have gone with it unknowingly. I definitely wouldn’t hire them for carpentry work. We had a prehung front entry door put in and screen door reinstalled. We ended up having to have someone else come out and redo the job because they installed it so out of square that you could see daylight and the screen door wouldn’t close unless you pushed it with all your weight. They didn’t replace the interior trim or the piece of flooring they pulled out. They did a good job installing the peephole, mail slot and handle. Would recommend for small jobs but nothing too involved. Definitely not electric or carpentry."

"DAL did great work with our big job! They did a front and back deck replacement with additional repairs (back basement wall was in bad shape once deck came off and front window under deck needed reframing). Tim was the single point-of-contact for all the teams: concrete team for the front pad and piers, carpenter team for all the deck work, back concrete pad and piers and wall rebuild, and additional drywall team for rebuild finishing. When the need for repairs was identified, Tim clearly explained the issue and laid out options with rough cost estimates. We went with DAL because they had done a deck down the street last year that looked really good, so we didn't really shop around - that said, they probably aren't the cheapest, but any additional cost is evident in the quality of work and ease of experience! Last note - it took most of a year from contract to build start, so plan ahead!"

"So at the beginning I was skeptical… no big fancy website, shrewd sales department, customer service representatives or middle-people… just a(The) Deck Guy(z)… a what you see is what you get-type operation, a real old-fashioned, word-of-mouth, independent small business. So I went with my gut (and my dog’s gut!) and I’m glad we did. It turns out it was great to work with someone who had real personal investment in the integrity of their craft, rather than just any random contractor assigned to the job by some bigger outfit collecting a paycheck. Allen replied immediately to my inquiry here on Angi, and shot me a ballpark estimate over the phone based on dimensions and materials, just to be sure we weren’t wasting each other’s time, and then he came out probably the very next day for a consult, might have even been a Sunday. I got another visit a couple days later with a written agreement/contract with prices and dates. Work began and finished on schedule, and on budget, including a few modifications and improvisations along the way. I was a little nervous when I asked them to extend a pathway, which involved a considerable amount of extra heavy duty concrete demo, and subsequent tweaks in design. But they rolled with it and made it happen on the fly, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. (Why on earth doesn’t Angi allow pics in the review?!) Al and PJ were a pleasure to see and interact with each day I was at home during the project. But on my work days I trusted them implicitly with access to my home/garage/yard as necessary, and they were beyond respectful of my property and pets… my dog and 2 cats enjoyed supervising the work and occasionally lending a helping “paw”. We’re actually going to miss having them around and just might have to find another excuse, I mean project! to hire them again in the future."

"I recently had Brassil Construction tear down my old deck and build a new one from scratch. I honestly canâ t say enough good things about this company. Mike and his team were a pleasure to deal with during the whole process. They showed up on time every morning and were very neat. Mike came out promptly and assessed the situation, explained in detail what needed to be done, and provided a competitive quote. One of Mikeâ s attributes, is his line communication. Unlike many contractors I have dealt with, Mike will always respond to your text or voice mail. Thereâ s nothing more frustrating than trying to reach a contractor whose voicemail is full and wonâ t respond to texts. Mike was always quick to respond to all of my inquiries. During the installation my wife and I had a few change of plans from our original thought process. Mike was very accommodative in making the changes we requested and also made sure that we were happy once he completed those changes. "We recently hired Dino and his crew to replace two decks and handrails in the front with TimberTech composite. Dino and his crew are like a family. They all worked together well and seemed to really enjoy what they were doing. Long days for them and several times I was telling them to â go homeâ , lol. They were great to work with and were always professional and listened to any concerns we had. If something wasnâ t quite right they would fix it. Weâ ve had workers here many times, but these guys were the neatest in regards to cleaning up debris and garbage. The finished product is beautiful and we are very happy with the project.
