"We had an excellent experience with Windy City Rooter. Max (the owner) and his son came to my house to diagnose the problem and give a free estimate. Unlike with other "big name" companies, I felt comfortable with their diagnosis. Windy City Rooter sends actual licensed plumbers to your house and not uneducated salesmen guessing what the problem is and trying to sell you expensive sump pumps or experimental fixes. Although the diagnosis was not good (we had a blocked overhead sewer with a leak in our basement), Max was huge help in making the ordeal as painless as possible. He explained the entire process of replacing our sewer, including city construction codes, digging, replacing pipe, sealing walls, and clean up. Windy City Rooter does all their own work, they don't contract out anyone else (one of Max's sons is in charge of the excavating). Therefore they know everything that is going to get done, how much it will cost, and how long it will take. They dug up the sewer, replaced it, sealed our walls, and cleaned up all in one day as I was at work. Max was phone call or text away, keeping me updated on the entire process. In addition he also helped by talking directly to our insurance adjuster to ensure we could get some money for the damages. Windy City Rooter is a highly experienced family run business and it is obvious that their goal is to make the customer happy. I will use them for all my future plumbing needs."

"The approached to my garage had cracked and was in need of repair. I was given a free estimate on what needed to be done at a very fair price. Mark showed up early ,cut out all the damaged area and repaired the approach with new cement, he also had it tapered away from the garage floor for proper water drainage.I’m very happy with the work that was done. When the job was finished they did a great job in cleaning up the entire area.I would recommend Great Lakes Contracting for any type of cement work that would need to be done. "The first mold contractor I contacted, the tech quoted me $8k for the basement, then got a whopping $12K written estimate from the company. Immediately signed up on Angie's List and called first 2 companies on the List.  MasterCat was first and no wonder why.  Both companies offered to analyze the written estimate.  Donny at Mastercat gave me a detailed breakdown.  He was honest, yet respectful of other companies.  He suggested the original $8k to be more reasonable.  When he got to the house, the home was drenched in humidity and he gave me the option to do the ENTIRE home for not much more than the $12k originally quoted by the first company for just the basement.  Plus Mastercat includes services that the other companies would have me contact a 3rd party contractor for:  duct cleaning, furnace cleaning, and air quality testing.  Because this was a neglected foreclosure, when Donny was done with the house, it was like brand new:  the tile in the foyer and mudroom was a sparkling original light color, no cobwebs in corners, baseboards scrubbed, even the dust and grime of 9 years of neglect on top of the kitchen cabinets were cleaned.  They went above and beyond what you would expect from any contractor even beyond their industry.  They packed up my extra store-bought de-humidifiers, they placed personal belongings neatly in a cabinet, they even cleaned out the grime in the garage that was causing a nasty odor.  Master cat saved me money on maid service and tile cleaning! And all this was scheduled on an urgent basis and Donny was able to start work even sooner than promised.  He tried to save me money when he could without sacrificing the thoroughness of the remediation.  I NEVER have the time to write reviews on any sort of website, but Mastercat deserves the recognition.  Highly recommend!"
