"Called on 12/22/15 for help with a water leak in the basement area. Plumbers had checked, but could not find a source and <br /> suggested we call a roofer to check for loose shingles or other problems.  We had a new roof installed about three <br /> years ago and at the first sign of trouble with the new roof, we never heard back from the contractor --- so we needed <br /> someone we could trust to inspect the roof for us.  The reviews for DC Roofing were excellent, so I called. Donny. He <br /> responded and said he would alert someone closer and to allow 24 hours. <br /> The weather forecast showed more rain coming and I was concerned the water leak would be a problem. After 24 <br /> hours, I called Donny back. He was working on a project, but would come to Bloomington in the late afternoon <br /> to check the roof.  He called later to say he was on his way ---- the weather was very threatening with heavy rain,  <br /> thunder and lightning---- I was concerned for him and said he didn't need to come. He said he would be careful. <br /> I am so glad he made the trip. It was a pleasure to meet Donny, <br />  who carefully inspected the water leak area, then thoroughly checked the roof and attic.  He took many <br /> pictures, which he used to describe the situation. Fortunately, he could not find any major problems and gave us <br /> a sense of peace that our slow leak was not as a result of the roof.   He took his time and answered questions.  He made some suggestions for us to consider in the future that could prevent possible problems, but there was no pressure.  I appreciate <br /> very much his willingness to make the trip, take the time to evaluate the situation and give us the reassurance that <br /> our Christmas celebration would go on without the roof leaking.  We have had several more days of heavy rain and there is no sign of any leaks.  There was no charge for the trip from Columbus or the inspection. I appreciated his information and his <br /> knowledge base of roofing and techniques. The pictures he took of other projects were also helpful. "Ben came out and gave an estimate for replacing existing windows with new ones. We wanted high end, composite material with a high R-rating. the product is top of the line, and while the work was delayed due to a lot of rainy days, they finally managed to hit it hard and finish in one day, including exterior coil trim finishing. EHI is scrupulous about cleanliness... I could barely tell they had been in my house and yard. I have used them before, and will definitely use them again!! Worth the money."

"we had asked that work not be done the week before our daughter's college graduation.  They called the weekend before and said a rooking crew was available and could do the work on Monday if we wanted to go ahead.  we said OK.  then it rained and they worked on Tuesday and then into Wednesday to finish.  the roofing crews did not always dump debris onto tarps, did not properly address an issue at the chimney leaving a gap above the facia (even though I had pointed out this condition during a walk thru for the bid), and, in my opinion, bent the gutters in two places.  When they fixed the roof at the chimney, they said they must have had some bad caulking because the first hot day after it ran down the side of the chimney in a black gooey mess.  They then had to come back again and clean the chimney and re-fix the problem. <br /> The guy installing the bathroom vent duct  through the attic installed the wye backwards. <br /> The siding crew replaced the moldy HardiPlank and trim.  They pointed out several other bad soffit locations that were not in the original scope and those were fixed by change order.  I had to have them come back and fix several sloppy joint locations, caulk places that had missed and fix other locations where the HardiPlank was installed against roofing but had not yet begun to deteriorate.  During the work on first return they tore a hole in the bedroom screen and we had to have them come back and take the screen off and have it replaced.  In general, their attention to detail and level of craftsmanship was not nearly as good as the work they had done in 2004.  They did eventually fix everything we asked for.  Next time I will look for someone better. <br />"

"All items accomplished per discussion with service writer. The items were in response to an energy audit performed by Northeastern REMC, a free service to their customers. It took the workers a bit longer to accomplish all the work, but they didn't shortcut anything. In fact, they found an area that wasn't discussed while foaming the common wall and took care of it as well, as it just made sense to include it. I tipped each of the installers for their extra help. <br /> I could easily tell the comfort difference in every area they'd hit, both during the winter and the subsequent summer. I just hired them to fix another problem with the fireplace area that's been difficult to diagnose and look forward to them resolving the problem. <br />"

"Contacted Dowdy Allinone, within a short time they setup an appointment to stop by, and see what I was looking for. William is a very friendly and easy to work with guy. He came by and told me to pick out the door purchase it, and he would be back for the receipt at a setup time to pick up the door. Dowdy showed up on time they received the door and delivered it in good condition. He was very fair, and even let me go with him to the store to purchase materials which isn't something you find very often. Dowdy showed me some falls in the area we were changing the door out in. He showed me the floor was rotted as well as some other areas around where the door was being installed. He however told me everything is fixable he gave me a price to fix the floor, and some other areas around where it had rotted. As everyone knows prices can also start to increase when the project begins. Dowdy however never let me down I got a little nervous when he started pulling off siding pieces, however Dowdy is experienced in siding, and he made it look easy and replaced all the pieces with no issue. Dowdy has no issues watching him work I was only there in case any issues arose he could address them to me. I originally hired him to just install a door, but I always know things don't go as expected. At the end of the day I ended up with: New sliding door, New Trim inside and outside, new entry way flooring, new sub-floor in entry way, new door woodwork, and new trim around entry way flooring. The original price was very fair, and almost shocking to see how competitive Dowdy was that even after all the other modifications, I still expected to pay way more. I would Highly-Recommend Mr Dowdy and his crew to future clients, co-workers, family, and friends. Thank you Mr Dowdy and your crew!"
