"I came home from work to find our 40-gallon water heater was not working (it was working that morning). The pilot was out and I could not get it re-lit (I do know how to light a pilot) After checking a number of companies on Angie's List, I contacted DB's Plumbing and Drain. Although it was almost 6pm, a very nice person answered the phone and I explained my dilemma. I was told they could send someone that night but would have to charge an after-hours rate. I was reasonably certain what was wrong would not be a simple fix like re-lighting a pilot so scheduled a visit for the following morning between 10 am and 12 noon. Michael D arrived shortly after 10 am. He was very courteous, polite and professional. Before entering my home, he donned a pair of shoe covers which was kept on as long as he was in the house. He diagnosed the problem as being a failed main burner system. As the water heater was 14-years-old, I weighed the cost of replacing just the main burner system on such an old unit against replacing the unit itself. I opted for the water heater replacement. Michael setup the old unit to drain while he went to retrieve the new one from their warehouse which took him about 45 minutes. Upon his return, he removed the old unit and cleaned up the area. He then cut back the existing copper lines to eliminate the numerous soldered couplings from the previous homeowner's repairs. He installed new copper pipes including a new quarter turn shut-off valve. A catch pan was placed and the water heater setup in it. Up reconnecting the gas line, he installed a sediment trap or drip leg (it did not have one previously) which catches sediment sometimes present in natural gas. After bringing the system online, Michael checked the gas line connections for leaks using a detection monitor. The installation was clean and neat and it is obvious Michael is conscientious about his work. Always interested in how things in my home work, Michael was very gracious in answering my questions regarding the installation. I am very happy with the install.and would like to thank Michael for his professionalism and the education."

"We called DoneRite after the water heater replacement company fiddled with the Town’s water supply end and somehow caused a blockage that shut off water supply coming into our house. Willis and his assistant arrived promptly and were confident in their assessment of the situation and their proposed solution. They were courteous in their interactions and also said that if their solution did not work then they would not charge us. The Town had informed us the previous day that they should be contacted first to come and shut off the Town end of the supply for any repair work. Willis was respectful of this request from us and waited patiently for half an hour for the Town to send their people. Willis suggested a replacement for our main water valve (which was very old and stuck), and also got our water supply back quickly. They also ensured that they had our new water heater turned on and running before leaving. We will not hesitate to contact Willis for any of our plumbing needs."

"Called for a water leak in the ceiling in the dining room. The master bath is directly above. A gentleman came and visibly looked for leaks in the faucets and drains in the bathroom. Then he cut a hole in the ceiling in the damaged area. He could not find a leak with what he saw. Suggested it could be a faucet leak or a pipe leak. Discussed the cost for repair to each if it was in fact that. I was ok with the pricing and the service for the potential problems. He said he would need to cut a hole in the tiled area around the tub to check the pipes and faucet. I agreed. What was not understood or mentioned was their company does not repair or replace drywall and tiles for the holes they make to do work. Shame on me for not asking but the professional standard is to return the site back to its original state. Had I known the gentlemen were not going to replace the tile I should not have had him cut the hole. The problem ended up being cracks in the shower that just needed to be sealed and regrout. In the end, the problem was superficial and did not need a hole in the wall to fix. Now I have to call a separate company to come to fix the walls."
