"Homework Property Services did a wonderful job on replacing the siding on our shed. They were very professional before and during the service. We knew up front what the cost would be and they spent time cleaning up everything! Their work was impressive. They took their time and did a wonderful job. We would love to have them do more work for us and would highly recommend them to anyone. Bill is the best and nicest man to work with :)"

"We had two jobs needing care; (1) clearing gutters, (2) cleaning and oiling of a beautiful wood front door. Brent from Meticulous was the employee who helped us, and he was first-rate--especially with the door. He was especially skilled and knowledgeable and gave the door some initial sanding and then a treatment which made the grains in the wood stand out. We call on Meticulous for help in many areas, and their work and advice is always first rate."

"We are very pleased with the work that David did for us, and would highly recommend him to others. He is very hard working, and did everything that we asked him to do. His prices were reasonable. If he was going to be late, he let us know what was happening, so that we were not just guessing if or when he would show up, but kept us informed, which was helpful to us."

"I suffered a house fire in July 2014. I spent 7 months of trying to work with a group that supposedly reconstructed my house. The experience was horrible. They couldn't care less about customers, the job, etc.  One item done poorly was installation of front and back doors as well as screen doors. <br /> I had Dave Wright (Yellow Van Handyman) fix the problems. My experience with Yellow Van Handyman (Dave Wright) (HomeTask.com) was absolutely and completely awesome compared to the previous months. Dave repaired storm doors and front and back doors that had been poorly installed. Cost was reasonable. Repair was done in a timely manner and Dave was courteous and professional.  The experience was a "breath of fresh air".  Thanks so much!  I will work with him again. <br />"

"Anderson was extremely professional and prompt. They replaced work that was shoddily completed only a few years earlier. Bidding included the cap, drip edge, and brick work for less than other bidders who were only planning to replace the cap. Work took less than a day, after which they cleaned up thoroughly. Looks and functions better than ever! <br /> We have already referred them to 2 neighbors, and everyone was very pleased with their work. It's nice to have professionals who do a good job to send to our friends. <br />"

"They are just finishing up, but I can tell you that it is a nice, high quality shed. The bid came in about 20 percent under what anybody else did. The wait time was a little long; they were six weeks out on it. I really needed it before then, but they gave me a date of December 1. They showed up on December 1, put it up and are finishing up with the painting on it. It looks great and it is a good, high quality shed. They had trouble with their GPS and I had to guide them in, but they followed me in and did just fine."

"The workers themselves were consciences workers but they needed constant supervision. They dug up a couple of perennials Inspite of elaborate instructions to the contrary. Jared does not provide them equipment either. I had to give them them hand tools, leaf handling tools and gloves. We routinely put 4 cubic yards of mulch on the property in spring --so I know what it looks like. Jared had me pay in advance for 5 cubic yards. What he arrived with wasn't 5 cubic yards. It was about 3. It wasn't enough to finish the yard so he wanted yet more money. From his perspective the written estimate meant nothing. I felt I was badly taken advantage of. <br />"

"I tried to schedule a quote with them because I wanted to get a leak fixed this year and to basically get an idea of what it would cost to do the rest of the house (where gutters currently aren't) for next summer; so that I can save for the expense. They couldn't make it the day we scheduled for and part of that problem ended up being a miscommunication that I don't really count as being their fault. <br /> We rescheduled and they came to do the quote. I took a couple of days to think it over and scheduled them to come and fix the leaking corner on my gutter. <br /> They couldn't come the day they were scheduled for, called at the last minute (basically 3 minutes before their listed closing time) and rescheduled, the day we rescheduled for they called at the last minute and said they couldn't make it and said that they would come around noon Saturday (which they're not even listed as being open for so I thought that was nice that they would come and finish it then) No show and no call this time so I basically decided it wasn't going to get fixed this year and I'll just find another company to do the whole thing next year. Inconvenient but oh well. <br />   <br /> I get a call on the next Wednesday that they are at my house (which I was not because we hadn't scheduled anything they just decided they had time for me then and showed up). The message was somewhat distorted (cellphone cut out and such) and I thought that they just came and found I wasn't home and left again but a few weeks later I got a bill for $150 for replacing the corner on the gutter system which I guess they did because the color is ever so slightly different on the joint from the rest of the guttering if you look at it very closely (due to weathering etc.). The only problem is the problem isn't fixed; it is now leaking from one of the seams instead of wherever it was leaking from before. Essentially the leak just moved over a couple of inches. I think the price would have been pretty good if it had fixed the problem but I pretty much got nothing for my money.  <br /> I wouldn't have even had them do the repair by the time they completed it because I was so dissatisfied with their time management and now I am dissatisfied with their work as well. Next year I will find another company to install new guttering around the whole house and hopefully this problem will go away with it. <br /> If sticking to a schedule is important to you give this company a miss.  <br />"

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse repair projects in Ogden, UT

You’ll know it’s time for a new shed roof if shingles curl or buckle, soft spots sag, or water stains appear inside. Moss or other plant growth on the surface is another red flag that moisture has breached the roofing layers. Replacing the roof quickly stops leaks from spreading, protects stored items, and saves you from costlier structural repairs down the road.

Choosing between a flat and a sloped shed roof comes down to climate, budget, and upkeep. A flat roof is cheaper up front, but still needs a slight pitch for drainage. A sloped roof sheds rain and snow more easily, lasts longer, and often needs less maintenance. Weigh your local weather patterns, the look you want, and how much time you’re willing to spend on upkeep before deciding.

A shed roof’s life span hinges on the material you choose and how well you maintain it. Most standard products last 15 to 30 years, while premium picks like slate or clay tile can protect the structure for 50 to 100 years. Regular inspections, fast fixes, and routine cleaning all help you reach the upper end of those ranges and keep your tools and gear dry year-round.
