"The crew arrived on time and on the agreed-upon date.  The crew completed the job in a professional and quality manner.  The crew was courteous and professionally.  In addition, they explained the process they planned to follow for applying the asphalt sealer.  Furthermore, they outlined future maintenance recommendations.  I will use this company again <br /> <br />"

"I am happy with the quality but the service is bad. I signed a contract early in the spring but work was not performed until July. King was supposed to seal coated the new blacktop in 60 days but they called and said they couldn't do it until next year. I told them to remove me from their customer list as I will not use them again."

"<p>Awesome Company!!! I needed a driveway replaced in Barrington Hills, and I ended up getting 6 quotes. Needless to say I ended up going with First Knight Paving. From the beginning they were the First company to call me back. They were nice and courteous and was 1 of 3 companies that were willing to set up an appointment to meet me and go over the details in person. The owner himself met me out there personally and spent an hour with me answering all of my questions, the 2nd company spent about 5 mins with me and rushed along the process. First Knight was very specific about what all was included in his price. unlike the 3rd company that was very vague and charged </p> extra for gravel and were not willing to haul the sod away that needed dug up. We called First Knight and told them we were going to use them, they offered to go and get the permit for the job for me all they need was a copy of my plat of survey and they took care of the rest. They called in 3 days said the permit was ready and was there the next week to do the job. They completed the entire job in 1 day including getting the base inspected by the village. Upon completion they went over all the pre-cautions about what to do and not to do. They made me feel like family, I have recommended them to my friends and family and have gotten them several jobs already. They called me to say Thanks and Offered me a free Sealcoat for my driveway... but I paid for the sealer anyway. I would highly Recommend them to everyone for any paving or sealcoating work. "I am very happy with my new driveway.  Very efficient, friendly, and the work was done quickly.  They tore out my old asphalt driveway, and hauled it away; the clean up by the crew was excellent.  The new driveways looks great! <br />"

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Oregon, IL

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
